This stuff was all over the radio back then, and it always irritated me.  I liked Peter Gabriel later on rather than earlier.  I realize that's backwards from the CW.

I have to disagree with the blech.
But I have a friend who grew up in Ireland, and he remembers watching Eurovision contest that year.  He said that ABBA was so different from the other acts, that he was sure they would either (1) get kicked off the show or (2) win it.

It's kind of a kick (that is if you actually like ABBA) to YouTube search for "eurovision abba waterloo" and see their original performances.

well, that was fun.  I appreciate when DM gets in a 'Breakout' (did I use that correctly?) which sparks my curiosity and makes me look further into a groups output from a specific year -- in fact, I think that happened with The Doobies APAS when I first heard it on 10@10. Before then, my Doobie exposure was pretty limited. Also, I like pre-81 anything Genesis, so I suppose that's my BOS.

Dave actually called it "Blue Boy" in his backannounce; maybe he wrote it down that way too?

Always a pleasure to be here with everyone. Maybe in August we can attempt to meet at one of the local live morning shows. I was at last years in RWC when it got cut short due to tech issues.
Good idea!  I've attended a couple Live & Local 'casts the last couple Augusts.
I always go to ones in SJ, and there are a few Fogheads I come to recognize every year.  I could also do the Burlingame one this year (I think)
Have the dates been announced?
Yes, it's on the KFOG website:

Friday, August 1
Pyramid Alehouse, Brewery & Restaurant
1410 Locust Street, Walnut Creek

Friday, August 8

A restaurant. I'll make it to B'game. Others either too far, too early in the morning or during my vacay week. Darn! I'll never forget the broadcast from Dave's house years ago. The best, EVER.

Nice to have you back, Princess!  And welcome, T-Cat!  I'm swamped in boxes and files, but had to pop out to BOS "Court & Spark" and "APAS," the latter of which I was playing at Rehoboth Beach a couple days ago.
at the Dogfish??
No, playing on my iPod at the beach.   8)  Passed by the Dogfish brewery but didn't stop in.
