The great Shel Silverstein got a Best Song nom for a little ditty called "I'm Checkin' Out". The Best Song race that year also involved Jon Bon Jovi (for the theme from Young Guns 2) and Stephen Sondheim (who won for his song from Dick Tracy, sung by Madge-Rod, er, Madonna.
