Marvin holds his ear up to some fruity vegetation.

a '60s set on Wed tells me we're getting a theme on Fri -- whether it's Mandela or ABBA, I dunno.

I have a definite memory of back in 68-69 singing "Grapevine" while riding my Schwinn chopper bike with the banana seat through the businesses bordering my neighborhood.  PS- I rode safely, not through Traffic  ;)

A longtime friend of mine's former roommate married Mickey Dolenz.  I remember getting an excited call from my pal in NYC whispering "Mickey Dolenz of the Monkees is in my living room right now!"

Let's hope not, but Rush Limburger has been encouraging his dittoheads to go to Denver and cause trouble.

BOS5 Donovan; BOS6 the Tops' fab cover of "If I Were a Carpenter" (another proxy of Gaz, methinks)

BOS7 CWOAB, "Fire"  I'll see you burn!

This set was an utterly wonderful surprise -- I fully expected '90s today (betcha that's on tap tom'ow). Unless perhaps Dave's leaving on vacay after this show?

ETA: I missed the intro; this was a B-Day request.

BOS7 CWOAB, "Fire"  I'll see you burn!
Frightening TANC: I actually had a "Baby I've Been Thinking" blog entry in the works on "Fire," which I was expecting to finish over the weekend and post Monday.  Now I have added incentive and relevance.

Thanks, Mike, for calling out 2 of my 3 BOS votes (the other being S&G, though the Bangles' version is even better).  And Wayback, I am utterly envious right now - have you been around here long enough to know how much of a Monkees fan I am?   :o

Does it impress you to know that Mickey was a neighbor of our high school typing teacher, and actually came to visit once?

He visited your high school?  Or did y'all hang out at your typing teacher's house?

He came to the high school.  It was quite a mob scene.  He was holed up behind some ticket window doorway in the student center.
