Hello Old Crapton ;)
I have a non-EC connection to this song. At the first concert Phil Lesh gave after his liver transplant, His sons and he opened the show with this song. It was very touching under the circumstances.

Must be!
-
I could do without "Walk This Way" (either incarnation) for the next few years.
-
Proxy of the Cat for Aerosmith. And I'm outta here for work, catchya later --
-
OMG! BOS America, "Today's the Day" -- tho' it sounds like the same warped copy Dave always plays.
-
I used to play this America song on college radio in 70's. Good times :)

I used to play this America song on my college radio show back in 70's. Good times :)
it was a fave at my college station too -- we were total Top 40 geeks.
VHM KC. "Shake your Boobies", as a straight buddy of mine used to call it.
-
Yankees lose, let's dance!
-
proxy of Alicat, "Shake Your Booty!"
-
Lookin' out for fake-jazz fun!
-
Wild Cherry, Play that funky music
-
I think I could do without "Play that Funky Music..." for a while too.
BOS, BTO (so far)
-
yeesh, WOS Wild Cherry. Except for the America, Dave's on serious auto-pilot so far.
ETA: and it's the loooong version, to boot.
-
Shoulda segued from KC into Wild Cherry, white boy
-
The America is probably the closest to a rarity so far, but this hasn't been a bad set generally. I'm torn on PTFMWB--kind of a guilty pleasure, but we do hear it a couple times a yearr (or so it seems).
-
Time for that Scott Beach record.
Okay, not yet.
-
Dave makes up for forgetting "Summer" last week.
-
8 track player playin all your favorite sounds
VHM, WAR
-
BOS2 Scott Beach!
-
Turn Dat Beat Around!
-
VHM Vicki Sue. But I was really hoping for a few more surprises in a '76 set.
-
wow, it's a disco extravaganza!

... like Captain & Tennille, Donnie & Marie, Starland Vocal Band ;)
-
BOS - Monologue before Turn the Beat Around -- don't know who does this, but it was fun. I even emailed Dave.
-
The Dan, yea!

Scott Beach, as promised.
BOS3 William Holden in the great, prescient Network, written by the late great Paddy Chayevsky.
BOS4 the Dan, wandering in from the city of St John.
-
The Dan, yea!
BOS2 - Steely Dan - not one of my faves but they always sound so good.
-
BOS Royal Scam, the last 100% great Steely Dan album

Aja??
-
Agreed on BOS for the Dan, and for Scott Beach while we're at it.

BOS Royal Scam, the last 100% great Steely Dan album
Aja??
not for me. Aja was the beginning of the slide towards Jazz, and the end of rock. I liked Aja, it wasn't as uniformly good, and less colorful.

06/25/2008 - Wednesday! A re-visit to...1976!!!
1. Eric Clapton - Hello Old Friend
2. Aerosmith - Walk This Way
3. America - Today's the Day
4. KC & the Sunshine Band - Shake Your Booty
5. BTO - Lookin' Out for #1
6. Wild Cherry - Play that Funky Music (BEST OF SET!!)
7. War - Summer
8. Scott Beach - Religion & Politics
9. Vicki Sue Robinson - Turn the Beat Around
10. Steely Dan - The Royal Scam
BONUS TRACK: Stevie Wonder - Sir Duke
Somehow I thought the Scott Beach was an "extra", not song #8. Kind of a cheat, there, Dave -- it's, what?, a minute-and-a-half?
-
BOS, BTO (so far)
Hey Rod, I missed the set, but I got the reference. Good one!
Wanted to make sure you knew that someone got it.

I'm with you, Geoff. Aja and Gaucho, lovely as they are, literally put me to sleep if I listen to either one straight through. (You'd think I'd use them for my intermittent insomnia.)
My BOS went to America. Would have thought we were due for Jefferson Starship's "With Your Love," but oh well.
