I'm very sad. He was a prophet, not just a comedian. Ever hear his bit on the Two Commandments?
His version of The Aristocrats was my favorite.

The first comedian I ever became familiar with - followed not long after by Robert Klein, David Brenner, Steve Martin and the SNL kids. RIP, George, and thanks for the perspective.

Ah, well. RIP George.

Indeed! Surfing around the dial last night we ran across an Inside the Actors Studio with Carlin that was taped in 2004. Great to see, but I'd love to see the uncut version--you could tell that he expounded on his responses more than what made it to the final cut. Still, very cool of Bravo to drop that into their evening lineup in light of Carlin's passing.

Carlin's last interview. It's quite long and very, very good.
