Stoned Love

heck, so many great tunes it could be a 20 at 10.

She's got it!  I still dig Venus.

I've always thought (secretly, until now) that you could do a funny parody using the words "I'm your penis.  I'm your spire at your desire".  But I haven't taken it any farther than that, perhaps wisely.

What is this heavy metal thunder?  Sounds vaguely Fleetwood Mac-ish.

ETA: Minimal research indicates that it is "Green Manalishi", by FM.

I've told the story here before, but a shocked-and-offended old lady called WMCA (one of the 2 big Top 40 stations in NY) and complained because she thought they *were* singing "I'm your penis". "Filthy! Disgusting! Shame on you!".  Swear to gawd.

BOS2 and proxy of geoff, "Green Manolishi"

Excellent!  And now more Fleetwood Mac, skillfully interpreted (and duplicated somewhat) by Santana.

"Everybody Wants To Be An Art Director" Stan Freberg
"Jacob and Sons/Joseph's Coat" Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat Original Cast Recording.

I'm sure that's not what you were thinking of, but I grew listening to those albums.

Because God is Dead.  (that's at least a very 1970's answer)

I knew you wouldn't disappoint me  :D.  "Convoy" was what I was looking for.

"eleven long-haired friends o' Jesus in a chartreuse microbus."

Gotta run.  Enjoy the last bits.

It's been less than 3 weeks since or last foray into 1970, at which time I posted:

always glad to hear 1970, which is strangely enough by far the rarest year between 1968-1987 over the last 4 years:

The fewest sets from any other year between 1968-1987 is 29, but 1970 only had 23.

Here's a colorful band for ya. (Blues Image for you following along non-musically.)

Did they have any other songs approaching this one in popularity?  They're a OHW as far as I'm concerned.

OMFG! BOS4 just 'cause it's the (not-often-heard) loooong version of Diana's "Ain't No Mountain".

"You see...my love is alive... it's like a seed... that only needs the thought of you... to grow..."  Drag Queens everywhere rejoice!

It was their only Top 40 hit, not sure about the Hot 100.
