yup, guess it is -- and it's a bustout, to boot.
It's Crum-believeable! VHM EMF

That's Unbelievable!
-
VHM U2, but this *is* '91 we're talking about, so I'm being picky.

There are 139 entries for U2 songs in the Db, and The Fly is a bustout. Big BOS from me!

Annalisa did a M3S on it yesterday, betcha can guess what the first song was.
-
I remember when Queensryche was up for a Grammy for "Silent Lucidity," whoever was reading the nominees was obviously unfamiliar with the song, stumbling over the title and finally calling it "Silent Lucy."
-
I.....have become...comfortably Queensryche.

BTW, did you disable the data-sort option on the db? Not working for me, and it's MUCH easier to search when you can sort.
WOS Queensryche. Ugh.

Was that the same year Jethro Tull won in the Hard Rock category at the expense of Metallica, and the presenter said words to the effect that 'you gotta give Jethro credit, he's been making great records for a long time.'

it does indeed sound like poor man's Floyd.
-
BOS for Texarkana. Go Mike!
-
Easy BOS vote: "Texarkana," one of my very favorite R.E.M. efforts.

I wouldn't begin to know how to do that, it must be something with your copy of Excel.
BOS #2 Mike Mills! Great sounding backing band he has there. ;)

That happened in '89. But when Metallica finally won in '92, Lars Ulrich got off a great line: "We'd like to thank Jethro Tull for not putting out an album this year."

I hadn't heard that! LOL!

Paul Simon did that when he won Album of the Year for Still Crazy: "I'd like to thank Stevie Wonder for not putting an album out this year".

If you've been "upgraded" to Office 2007, the "sort" function in Excel isn't nearly as easy to use. CNET inflicted that on us a few months ago--terrible decision. Mark, give your pal Steve at M'soft an earful about this one.

VHM's to the Fixx & Mellencamp.

That "how much is enough?" song was the Fixx? I didn't know; I was thinking Simple Mimes.

BOS from me too, but despite several bustouts, I'm fairly underwhelmed here.
'91 was a weird year for me musically, since I moved here in the spring. In NY I listened mostly to urban WBLS and alt WDRE for the first couple of months; when I got here I discovered KDIA and aside from Alex Bennett in the morning on Live 105, I listened to them almost exclusively -- I've no idea what KFOG was playing as current in '91.
Yikes, "More Than Words" -- that's extreme, Dave.

Oh, no. Not another heavy metal band doing a wimpy acoustic song. WOS for Extreme.

a) I haven't been upgraded and b) it was working until a week or 2 ago; now it simply doesn't have a drop-down menu under "Data" anymore.

Woo-hoo! I've been wishing for this one for a long time: Jellyfish, "Baby's Comin' Back." Proxy of POC, BOS2 from me.

BOS2 too. 3 bustouts in a '91 set is indeed impressive.

Wow, I thought the guy sounded Jellyfish-esque, but I haven't heard this before. Ooh, but the circus organ does kind of give it away. Kind of a retro sound, even for them.

I was distracted, but the organ pulled me back in, and I was thinking 'who's this goin' all retro in '91?'

So where would you go to hear Rico Suave in 1991? I've never heard it anywhere but 10at10, which is just as well.
-
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! WOS Gerardo. How sad that Dave thinks this is worthy of multiple spins -- once, as a joke, maybe, but.... sheesh.

it was a huge Top 40 hit, not to mention MTV.

during the last week of school, the physics teacher and I played guitar/bass for the kids. Of course there was a huge gap in what they knew vs. what we knew. In one class, a student took the guitar and sang "More Than Words" with another classmate! I was pretty floored they knew it. Probably some cover somewhere.

You're exactly right: it was covered for a minor hit by an R&B singer called Frankie J last year:
