Well, odd to do '69 on a Thursday -- maybe Dave's going on vacay?

He's certainly due--don't think he's been off since Xmas. Either that or it's a Foghead request.
But they're playing Mony Mony right now, and I just realized it's the Tommy James version--why couldn't this pop up during the Rock of Ages thing last week?
ETA: Ah, Dave explained during the backsell. He started with the Billy Idol version, then segued into Tommy James. Guess there's some foghead that's been ragging on him to hear the TJ version.
-
Get back! All the way to 69.
-
Hmm, brown acid to remember Dr. Hofmann?
But major BOS to Paul Revere & the Raiders, "Let Me"!
-
One or maybe two spot-the-vinyls to be heard.
And a lengthy Woodstock montage that I think we've heard before. Love how they won't flat-out tell people not to take the brown acid, just that it will mess you up if you do.
Oooo--possible bustout! Let Me--Paul Revere & the Raiders!
-
Well, Beatles (yay) to get us back.
Either Dave starts vacay (but back for Kaboom?) or maybe a long weekend, or perhaps we really are getting a James Brown Soul Patrol or some other theme tomo'w. Glad I didn't make a B-Day request.
Speaking of, I'll be off tomorrow; might pop in if Ginger's doing something good (a strong possibility since she did '93 today) but I'm going out to the Avenues for dim sum followed by Iron Man. Robert Downey Jr RULES.
OMFG!!! "Let Me"!! BOS to a PR&TR bustout!
ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma!
-
Always dug this Paul Revere & Raiders tune!
-
Donovan & Jeff Beck, far out, man 8)

If I'd been around at the time, I'd've been screaming for Mark Lindsay's long version.
-
BOS2 "Barabajagal" Love is HOT! Truth is MOLTEN!!!
-
TANC: When I was up in PDX last week, I saw an ad in Willamette Week (their local weekly tabloid) for Mark Lindsay's Rock and Roll Cafe. Have to go check it out once I get relocated. Must keep expectations in check:

Paul Revere & the Raiders were Portland natives, iirc.

Thanks for the tip, I get up to Portland for biz several times a year, take Sandy Blvd all the time from airport to downtown, passing it without knowing it was there. I'll check it out!

BOS, Elvis.
Happy Mayday, everybody! 8)

Dave's caught in a 'trina and he can't walk out. But BOS2 "Suspicious Minds" anyway -- one of the great pop singles of all time.

I got my first FM radio for Xmas '69 -- probably didn't hear "Volunteers" until early '70, hence the confusion. But yeah, another BOS.

Surfed thru their site a bit--looks like the Hard Rock Cafe with a PR&R bent. And I think it's only been open since last August. Worth a look, but I expect the food is typical TGIFriday-style fare.

OMFG! BOS4 "Soul Deep"!!!
-
BOS Alex Chilton & the Box Tops "Soul Deep", still have the 45!
-
OMFG! BOS4 "Soul Deep"!!!
Is this Three Dog Night? Sounds like a Neil Diamond song.
ETA: The Boxtops? Sounds like he's singing it while doing a Whip-it.
-
Let Me was likely from vinyl--this Box Tops tune sounds like a possibility, too.
-
Joe Cocker with Steve Miller at Concord this summer!
-
I'm astounded that "bathroom Window" is only in the db once! By Monsieur Co-kair. And never by the Beatles. WTF?

Dave already used the "...ladies & gentlemen, the Loooong version" clip, but I sure hope that doesn't mean that this is going to be the first time he only plays the short version of "Oh Well".

Yep, HH was in there. Also, The Big Valley. I may have been the only one to recognize that one, unless there are other huge fans of classic tv westerns here today.

No such luck. I left to go read a book. Back in time for Joni. Set now reduced to 8-way tie for BOS.

Your fears are not realized. Def. the long version. Superlative set--even the one's we've heard more often (CCR, Joni) are pretty fab.
ETA: How many songs was that? Did DM slip in an extra one there?

I recognized it -- I was heavy into that show even tho' I didn't watch any other Westerns. Musta been a pre-gay Barbara Stanwyck thing.
Joni's in a Chelsea 'trina. VHM for the poetry.

Oh good, I heard '69 from the beginning and was hoping not to have missed the comic book replay. Would rather have missed the current '88 set than the '77 set, of course.
