we're having streaming probs at work today, and I can't say I'm upset at missing chunks of '88. GnR isn't technically a Katrina but it feels like one to me.

Well, here's another one you won't mind missing: CH, Sister Madly.

Jeez, it's the end of April already? Where has this month gone?

The clips in this set are better than the songs in between them: now we're hearing a collage of Quayle's malaprops. He almost sounds coherent compared to the boob we've had in the White House the last 7 years.

Followed by Bobby B, My Prerogative.

Clips are definitely outshining the songs, same was true in the '81 set we got on Monday.

Anyone else want to go back to tomorrow with Dan Quayle?

For a sec during the intro, I thought Dave was having a brain fart and playing Nature's Way. Quickly realized my error, but still...

THey need a fact checker tho--they have Brian Eno as being born in both '47 and '48 (I think 48 is correct), and they list a "William Spooner" as a member of the Grateful Dead. I assume they mean Bill Spooner from the Tubes, but sheesh.

I recently saw Toni's appearance on Classic Soul Train... funky is one thing she is not.

Certainly  not TTD for the umpteenth time.

TTD, underneath the sycamore treena. Dave's lack of range in these late '80s sets is quite depressing.

Her "Can't Stop Dancing" in last weekend's "AT40" April 1977 rewind sure proved that!

Today marks the completion of 4 solid years of uninterupted Db data, and over the next couple of days it looks like I will have enough time to collate, scrub and format the data into the DB.  If I have enough time after that I will sort & update the Katrina lists as well.

But I'm damn certain this set is going to be one of the most 'trina-laden in the whole Db.

probably worse than that as I'm sure we've heard it since Dec. when I last updated the Db.

I like 'em OK, particularly their first record (Especially for You). Saw a few drunken shows of theirs (both the band and me) in the later 80s, too.

Alas, I'm probably out of town that weekend. But these days my indulging usually stops after about three beers tops, so it wouldn't be the same. Back in my salad days, I'd drink more than that before I even left the house. :)
