Happy day! Yay. 71 indeed.
-
Wow, obscure BS&T to start! BOS1FRA!
Hoping to hear:
Family Affair
Don't Pull Your Love (Out)
Resurrection Shuffle
-
Holy flaming Mother of Clayton-Thomas! BS&T, "Lisa Listen to Me"!!! BOSFRA (a bustout, methinks) and proxy of cairo. Impressive start.
-
amazingly, "Baba O'Riley" is only in the db twice.

Which doesn't have that much to do with "Won't Get Fooled Again". ;)
BTW, what does FRA mean? I can't find the lexicon anymore.

seriously? You're easily pleased today ;)
I'm with ya on "Resurrection Shuffle", tho' -- but I'd prefer Tom Jones' version for a change.

ooops. One "Who's Next" track is as good as another. BOSFRA means "Best of Set For rarity alone"
meanwhile "WGFA" is only in the db 3 times.
-
BOS Who
-
VHM Rod/Faces, "I'm Losing You". (another surprising db rarity)
-
VHM I'm Losing You
-
Dave's breaking out the long tunes today. So glad he did it in 71, one of my favorite years.
-
OMFG2 and BOS2 too: Ms King, "So Far Away". So lovely.
-
BOS So Far Away.
Lovely.
-
Who, Rod, Carole King: all memories of sleepaway camp Summer '71, listening to the transistor AM radio under the pillow. (or was it Summer of '42?)
-
Summer of '42 -- some schmaltzy deflowering for Gaz.
-
Who, Rod, Carole King: all memories of sleepaway camp Summer '71, listening to the transistor AM radio under the pillow. (or was it Summer of '42?)
Ooh, such drama from the "Summer of 42". Has anybody seen this?
-
BOS3 Dramatics.
-

I agree. Great song.

Yup. But not since '71. Jennifer O'Neill was the woman.
ooo! a soul twin-spin! canyadiggit?
-
jealously, envy, misery.
Smiling faces......beware
-
BOS2 and 3 to the one-two soul punch of Dramatics and Undisputed Truth!
-
WOS to Nilsson. Never liked this, and tea doesn't have bubbles.
-
BOS4 Nilsson! Bubbles'n'troubles from The Point

More important than that, Ms O'Neill was in "Futz!" in 1969 which has the following plot summary (beginning): "Sexual satire about a young farmer who has had many bad experiences with women. He showers love and affection upon his pet pig.."
Might have to find that one ;)

I hadn't heard this one ever before, but I agree on both points (WOS & bubbles)

ugh! you are a cruel heartless bastard, my friend. You'd've preferred "Don't Pull Your Love" for the millionth time? A nation weeps.
-
BOS4 Nilsson! Bubbles'n'troubles from The Point
I've always loved "The Point". It touched me when I first saw it. My kids like it too -- it's pretty surreal -- even more so than "Yellow Submarine", which we all enjoy.
-
BOS ELP - not one of my faves but good enuf anyway....
-
Yes, nice track from Nilsson. I'll have to give my Point LP a spin. Oooh what a lucky man!
-
I'll bos Lucky Man, though it's been fine all around.
-
I feel lucky Dave's spinning this fine set.
-
Hey yeah, Wadsworth Mansion "Sweet Mary"!
-
BOS+1 to an ode to the sweet green leaf. "Sweet Mary, I'm comin' home!"
-

I second that BOS+1

-
And a beautiful one from Elton. A set for the ages!
-
BOS5 EJ -- he was buried in the mix there for a sec.
-
Always dug the fade out on this Elton tune "Love Song" with the children laughing.

and a surprisingly frequent flyer -- only "Simple Life" appears as often, among Elton tunes -- and that one's mostly from Gay Pride sets.
-
Right on Dave, nice set, good memories!
-
Wow, some set I missed!
