Title: 22 April 2008: The Earth Day set

Dave's got it pretty much set, tho' he's accepting last-minute suggestions.

I'm guessing that, like the Tax Day and Halloween sets, it'll be about 80% songs we've heard before, and a couple new ones.

Instant BOS to 3DN, out where the rivers like to run.  Special kudos to songwriter Paul Williams!

This John Farnham is something of a Morey fave in 1990 sets, tho' this is only its 2nd Earth Day appearance.

No need to reiterate, but yeah, that 3DN song is a fave of mine too. It's resonating with me particularly strongly this year.

OK, someone fill in the blank on this Sit In Silence tune--I know we've heard it before (Pride sets perhaps?) but it's a first timer for Earth Day.

(Surprised that we have only three ED sets to refer to in the shraytabase: '02, '05 and '07--unless there's a couple under different names.)

It sounds like Mickey Thomas of the Starship (reminds me of his backing vox on Heart's "What About Love?").

Yep, but all three have been must-play tunes for any good Earth Day set. Sorry I missed Ginger's spin of this one.

Sometimes we hear The Ballad of Jenny Ledge, and also Things She Said, all in 1990 sets.

Eeewwww--NOT MORE JACK JOHNSON!!! ANYTHING BUT THIS!!!!

(Why is this guy popular? Could he be any more vanilla? It shocks me that he's actually headlining one day of that Outside Lands festival in the park later this summer--there's no way he deserves that level of popularity.)

TANC: I watched Annie Hall last nite for what might've been the 25th time. It never gets old. "Too much mellow, I ripen and then rot".  "That's OK, we can walk to the curb from here."  A treasure-trove of quotable quotes.
