Bill Nelson tells us of his Flaming Desire. Early BOS candidate, fer sure.

Too bad Be Bop Deluxe is always off the menu.

Now it's Deborah Iyall's message for her father. (At least I remember her saying that in an interview once.)

ETA: But WTF was that fanfare of horns and strings at the end?

Holy Crow, is he really gonna play "Telegraph Road"?

Holy Crow, is he really gonna play "Telegraph Road"?

It sure seems like it--isn't this track like 9 minutes long? If he does this gets Song of the Week honors, hands down.

ETA: Not a bustout though--it turned up once previously, February 1 2005.

More like 11 minutes 14:14.  He did this once before about 2 yrs ago.

Yeesh, the Stones and Romeo Void songs were kinda short, but this set is likely to be pushing 50 minutes even so. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Mark has an affinity for avatars that raise, umm, the spirit. His Scarlett Jo avatar hung around for a long while by popular demand as well.

VHM Strange Advance.

"Worlds Away" was in a 3-way tie for BOS when it first got captured by my DB in '02, but it a real frequent flyer since then.  Still worthy of a VHM though.

OMG!!! Six Months in a Leaky Boat! One of my fave Enz tunes. Since I assume the Straits tune will carry the popular vote, this is getting mine.

Did they interpret it as criticism for the Falklands? Those Brits--so sensitive.

"Six seconds in a leaky 10at10"... wonder if Dave will explain the dead air of mid-set?!

they sure did, although I think it was the Thatcherites who were sensitive, not the average Brit.

Probably a protester trying to unfurl a "Free Tibet" banner got tangled up in their transmitter.

Mark has that special sense of good taste to pick avatars of young beauty at it's peak.  While I miss the red dress avatar, this ain't too bad!

today I had a little freakout at school, as I remembered I forgot to take my blood pressure meds in the morning, and visions of exploding heads popped into my cranium.  I got a coworker to cover me for a half hour while I raced home.  Just as I was getting back to school, I couldn't believe my ears about Telegraph Road.  I was at least able to phone in a BOS, but not able to sit and listen.  And to think that Strange Advance got played in the same set!  Too tasty!

04/10/2008 - Thursday! Time in...1982!!

1.   Bill Nelson - Flaming Desire
2.   Romeo Void - Never Say Never
3.   Rolling Stones - Little T & A
4.   Dire Straits - Telegraph Road (BEST OF SET!!)
5.   Haircut 100 - Love Plus One
6.   Members - Working Girl
7.   Police - Darkness
8.   Strange Advance - Worlds Away
9.   Split Enz - Six Months in a Leaky Boat
10.   Who - Athena

BONUS TRACK:  The Jam - Town Called Malice
