Title: 4 April 2008: a delayed MLK set? Nope, 1970
Post by: RGMike on April 03, 2008, 02:09:02 PM
I just realized 4/4 is the 40th anniv of MLK's assassination. We did not get the traditional MLK set in Jan. Do you suppose...?

around 8 Dave gave a rundown of the rest of the morning (they'd just wrapped Gavin's semi-regular appearance) and he said that we were going to get "a fantastic set for 10 at 10 today".  But he didn't tip it.

Hrm. If we had not already gotten '69 on Monday, a '68 set heavy on MLK clips would've been a sure bet. maybe he'll do it anyway -- a date-specific '68 perhaps.

Oh jeez! Instant BOS for BB, Lucille and The Thrill is Gone. Hard to believe this charted, but such a great great tune. (And another one-timer in the DB--its last appearance was October of 05.)

VHM BB, amazingly this only appears in the db once before.

and got all the way to #15.  That's 1970 for ya... free-form prog FM tended to be blues-friendly, so there was something of a crossover factor at the time.

Thought you might like that (despite your well documented preference for older women).   ;) ;) ;)

Her name is Alisson Stokke, on that thing Mike posted about Scarlett Jo from PopCrunch there was a photo of her at the bottom of the page and it turns out she came in #3 in The 50 Hottest Women of Sports.  She won the CA state pole vault last year as a junior but only came in 4th this year.  So she is maybe 18 or 19.

I'm sure no one will cmplain if I repost the full size image.

Heard the last part of the set in the car, along with the bonus.  Didn't hear the dialog btwn Annalisa & the Foghead, but suddenly realized I was hearing Partridges.  Woo f***ing Hoo!

Great set, loved all the commercials, which didn't get the commentary here that they deserved.

No - Gaz leaves Sunday morning at 6am.  Cringing already.  Today I had a tax appointment ridiculously early in the morning, came home and went back to sleep.  My work schedule has wreaked havoc on my sleep schedule.  Vacation came just in time.
