This is good, actually -- I'm planning on requesting a '60 SP for my B-day (May 2nd) and that's 2 months away -- doubt Dave'll do another soul set in the meantime.

Make sure you request it early & ask Dave if he's taking is more-often-than-not vacay that week.  I recall you & Rod getting screwed out of birthday requests most years becasue Dave just ain't there.

This set aired as a classic on Oct 10 of 2004 if anyone wants to look it up in the Shraytabase, but I'm not gonna bust any songs before it's over, 'cept to say it's a winner.

Good point.  I haven't made a B-day request in a couple years after too many disappointments (even when he was there) but since it's a Friday this time, I figure a Soul Patrol might actually fly.

"Tell all the folks in Russia and China, too."

This was actually a pretty subversive lyric at the time it came out, but I don't think anyone noticed.

They were on Classic Soul Train this week, doing the 2 followups ("Dusic" and "Ain't Gonna Hurt Nobody") and were just fab.

LTD: I got to sing with Jeffrey Osborne at Alameda County Fair a couple years ago. He wandered about in the audience during his "WooWoo Song" with a wireless mic and when it came to the chorus, he'd stick the mic in someone's face for the line. One of them happened to be yours truly.

OK, I peeked. A little rolly coastah on the way.
Now that doesn't sound right. Maybe that was the other group listed. I closed the db. I'll have to wait and be surprised.

Btw, it sounds like this computer failure is pretty major, at least in terms of a lot of their bumpers and so forth. They're still able to play commercials (of course) but a lot of station IDs and sound effects and such are down the tubes for the moment. Since they had warning that this might be happening (remember, the computer took a crap a week or so ago too) there's probably some 'splainin' to be done in their IT dept.

BOS to "You & I," just for that innocently perky lead-in that has nothing to do with the song itself.

The Monkees did two different songs called "You and I": one in '69, one in '96.

On the subject of hating to nitpick (waiting for lightning bolt to strike...okay, proceed) The Moodies tune was the grammatically less correct "You And Me", not "You And I".
