"we think you'll like it" sez Dave. Don't speak for Don -- he knows better.

He actually busted the year at the end of that break--it's 95 today. Hrm.

It better include Edwyn Collins. Or better yet, the Smokin' Popes.

It sounds almost like we're leading with Frank Zappa. But no...
RHCPs?

Izzis Red Hot Chili Peppers? I dig the funk.
ETA: Google confirms it. Very cool start.

Yes, "Walkabout"
-
BOS REM "WTF, Kenneth?".
-
"What a bonanza!!!"
Gotta love Joe Starkey. Shameless rooter for the home team.
-
All hail Dionne Ferris, Queen Katrina of 1995!
-
TP rolls another joint, but never does get to the point
-
hard to believe Dave didn't play WTF Kenneth until now.
Biggest Katrinas in 95 are U2 "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" & Dionne Farris

How many times have we been to '95 anyway? We should have all of 'em in the DB, no?
VHM TP.

Uh-oh. Another live read of the bumper--and no news lately. Computer take its weekly crap?
-
uh-oh -- another computer kluge? We won't be hearing this one tonite, I guess -- so enjoy (if that's the word for '95) while ya can.
BOS2 James McMurtry.
-
BOS2 (or maybe 3) for Mr. McMurtry.
I saw him at Villa Montalvo. He was kind of relentlessly low- to mid-tempo which didn't make for an inspiring show, though his lyrics are fantastic. He did generate some enthusiasm for "Choctaw Bingo", a great song.

Yep, I'd be inclined to vote for this or the Peps.
-
BOS3 Mr Isaak -- yeah, I know, the act has worn thin, but I really loved this song at the time.

I think we have all the sets from '94 on. This is the 7th time we've been to 1995. Forgot to mention that Heather Nova's right there with U2 & Dionne, 4 out of the previous 6.

This is probably my favorite song of his. BOS from me without reservation.
-
BOSx for the Black Crowes. I don't even recognize this one, but I really like it.

yeah, me too. Dave's not doing so bad today.
-
Woohoo for Aimee Mann. I've always dug her.
ETA: I thought I heard Chris Difford in there. AMG conforms that he and Tillbrook both appear on that track, with Tillbrook playing guitar as well as singing.
-
Aimee Mann, taking Heather Nova's slot for today.

This was the TotHK the last time we visited, but it was also a bustout then.
-
Quoth Norm MacDonald on SNL Weekend Update: "Topping the charts this week, Better Than Ezra. In at #2, Ezra."
-
One more BOS: Better than Ezra, Good. Always dug this tune, and it's sounding good.
Looks like once again no Jayhawks in '95, despite their Tomorrow the Green Grass having been released this year.

Or then again, maybe not.
DM must really love this song.

Ya can keep a good double entendre down. Here's Heather.

Bonus: Wilco! But we're getting the Cars first.

And then REM's new one. Box Full of Letters must be stuck in the dead computer.
ETA: But Annalisa finally makes good! About five songs later...

*applause* Well played, and when will you ever get to use that gag again?
BOS to Aimee Mann since I won't hear her on the replay. She's a terribly underrated songwriter.

We did get this set again tonight somehow. "WTFK" sounding very good; I still don't know why Monster is held in such disfavor today. One thing I remember is that the Cleveland modern-rock station I listened to was playing this, "Star 69," and "Crush With Eyeliner" pretty much simultaneously upon the album's release.
