Is that who that was? First time I've heard it (really).

They've been playing that for a while now & y'all just noticed?
But yes, I totally agree.
-
But back to today's set--by my count we've only been to the 60s once this year, so I'm guessing it'll be '69 today.

I noticed the first time I heard it, but now it's become annoying.

Live read of the top-of-the-hour station ID--hmm, tech malfunction, or just caught unprepared?

I've got to jump into the car now for an oil change before we drive down to La La land for the weekend. Wife's sister in Irvine had a baby last month so we've got to go visit (first grandchild for her folks other than my 2 sons). Be driving back Mon, so see y'all again onTues.
Have great weekend everyone!

Ye shall be missed, but I'm thinking Monday shall be a classic, so hopefully nothing too earthshaking to be missed. Safe travels, 'k?
Woohoo--this set just keeps gettin' better--BOS3 (of 3), Stooges 1969!!

Ditto -- I smell a 10-way tie. (and ah love the smell of a 10-way tie in the morning!).
sure enuf, BOS4 "Com-Com-MO-shun"!
-
Closest we've had to a katrina so far--Moodies, Dear Diary. Proxy of Shray, while we're at it.
-
proxy of shray (unless he's still lurking): Moodies, "Dear Diary", closest to a Katrina so far (it was once VERY frequent in '69 sets, nowadays less so).

proxy of shray/"closest to a Katrina" JINX!!
This is gettin' scary, urth!

When I was with GameSpy, I worked in Irvine! About 1/4 mi. from the Santa Ana (aka John Wayne) Airport.
Meantime, HM to the Stooges ("1969" has grown on me), but for BOS ...
I got a lot of those HEART-ACHES
I got a lot of those TEAR-DROPS
-
BOS4 Joe Jeffrey Group, "My Pledge of Love".
-
BTW, I tried to post the above FOUR TIMES, kept getting denied by that "Warning: Other posts" nonsense.
But oh well. BOS2 to one Dave hasn't brought out in YEARS: Joe Jeffrey, "My Pledge of Love." Great stuff!!

Nice wheels! I don't drive, but if I did, my dream machine would be a '68 Mustang.
Either that, or a 1914 Prince Henry Vauxhall, but those aren't good for freeways.
-
BOS3 to Commander Rah-Rah(!) and the Buddah megamix that is "Moonflight."

nice wheels!
VHM Vic Venus! (aka Jack Spector, one of the WMCA "Good Guys")... obviously a Bhudda release.
ETA: Bhudda JINX!
-
BOS3 to Commander Rah-Rah(!) and the Buddah megamix that is "Moonflight."
Now this is a bustout, fo' sho!
ETA: and Dave's playin the whole thing.
Ducks and pigs and chickens call--they're taking me to Marrakech!

A blue '68 Mustang was my first car, from 75-78.
Is this a Dickie Goodman record?

Nope, he's def played it, regardless of what the shraytabase may say.

And a "nice wheels" jinx too! This is different from the other cut-in records in that it only used clips from the Buddah label.

indeed, he's played it twice -- but this is the first time in nearly 4 years.

I have 'Moonflight' on tape: a 10@10 done last July or year before (it was a set of hits of 7/21/69).
Breakaway: one of my fave Beach Boy tunes.
-
BOS5 BBs at their loveliest, "Breakaway".
-
I like how Dave *always* leads into Beach Boys songs with that "especially our latest" clip. This song is new to me!

Actually, the Shraytabase agrees with you--twice, but not since 2004.
Ditto for Breakaway--once before, but major rarity nevertheless.

Man, I wish I had a handy pic of my '69 GTO...
-
BOS3 to Apollo-by-the-Bay, wherever the hell that is, and one of my favorite 3DN harmony vehicles.
-
Somehow I don't think this is the Patriots favorite song...

Three and a half years ago?! Yipes!
Tune #10 ALREADY?! Do it again!!!

I hadn't thought of that angle! Does Dave have issues with Tommy Boy?
9/10 great set (I dislike "Marrakech Express"). Some major favorites there. Thanks, Dave! And happy weekend, all! (Long weekend for me, yay!)
-

The curse of these 60s sets--all the songs are like 2:50.

If you don't have a thread on first cars, I'll start one.

you better better hide Giselle.

and here's that insufferable "I'll buy you Rogaine" song, by yet another Corinne Colbie Feist soundalike -- They're everywhere, I tells ya! It's really ridiculous -- make yourself sound exactly like 4 other people and get your record on the radio.

Yeah, that's one of the most bizarre/standout lines to appear in song.
AND, the amazing thing is THAT'S A GUY singing!!! ;)

Superb Bonus: Stones, "Live With Me"
That was me who won the bonus
(used one of my buddies names, he'll get the CD prize in the mail).
Annalisa was strongly pushing Sprial Staircase, but I said for today its "Live Wit Me!"

indeed, many thanks, bub -- I love "More Today..." too, but it's a fairly frequent flier in Morey '69 sets.

If that changes, let me know. Speaking of - is the "A" column in the Shraytabase archived sets? If so, has anyone archived anything since the Soul Patrol of October '06?

Fate stepped in, one of our cats woke me up a little after 7, so I stumbled downstairs and started the DAT machine after feeding the little beggars. Then back to bed until just before '73 started. So I *should* have it.
And yes, I've been cherrypicking sets all along since then. Several more in '06, a whole bunch from '07, and about 4 this year so far. I'm guessing Mark just hadn't accessed that part of my archive when he was working on the Shraytabase for that period. But I'm puzzled by your mention of the 10/20/06 Soul Patrol--that's one that I *don't* have in my records. So either I missed cataloging it or Mark got it all on his own.

Yes the A column is for sets that are now ripped to my backup hard-drive (and thus available on request to be burned and mailed out). Anything in the past two years is based on the actual ripping process, not Urth's list that he once sent me. I have a double handful of discs from Urth that cover most of 2007 that I haven't ripped yet (which also means that I haven't returned them to Urth, oops!). Later today I will finish an update of the Db through Nov. & send it to Geoff to put on the webpage. If anyone wants me to send it directly to them, just say so.
