The promo I heard last nite said '92, but Dave's out sick today, so it's not clear whether we get a '92 classic or something else.
BTW, did anyone else catch Dave's comment in yesterday's intro, telling one of the Birthday Buddies to "be here Friday"? Meaning, I assume, that they made a request that was more appropriate for a Friday than a Tuesday.

Yep, and I drew the same conclusion.
However, Dave is soliciting suggestions for "through the wall" songs (great rock songs that you heard "through the wall," being played by siblings/parents in the next room, that turned out to have a big influence on your musical taste) on his blog, so I suspect we may get that set one day soon, too. Except no one had responded as of last night.

"Through the wall"? yeesh, who came up with that. One for "the kids" I guess. The only thing I heard thru the wall was Robert Goulet.

A gal called in during A-Z & used that term about whatever deep cut from the 70's they'd just played, and Dave asked her to explain.

As for today's set, I'll likely miss most of whatever year we get, as I've got the dreaded 10am meeting. So 92 would not break my heart in the slightest.

well, it's '91 instead. Same diff -- methinks I'll bail and hear the entire on-demand version of CGSS from Sat nite.

This 1991 set is from 9/12/07, which features the sound bite of activists invading the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, between Bodeans "Good Things" and EMF "Unbelievable." And stick around for Hit #6 ...

Dave's hint was that this Friday will be 1970.

Got interrupted by a phone call & missed the beginning of this song with the female vocals. Can't place it but feel like I should be able to.

"Rico Suave" is what started the 1991 Gulf War, just listen, it's coming...

hmmm, it pretty horrible, but not that horrible, is it?

Golden Palominos got my first BOS & BoDeans get my 2nd, and after this I'm off to an appointment.
Glad you were here today Wayback, I'd have had no one to talk to.

I cannot begin to express how happy I am that I missed "RRRRRRRRRRRRico SSSSSSSSSSuave". Dave's love of Latino guys with sixpack abs knows no bounds, but it's a horrendous record. If he wants to play a GOOD Latin rap record, there's Mellow Man Ace's "Mentirosa" from 1990.
