Far be it from me....

BOS1 Midnight Cruiser. (Is that first line "Thelonious, my old friend" or "Felonious..."? I'd think it would be the former but sure sounds like he's singing the latter.)

ETA: And I see Mark has answered my question before I asked it. It's gonna be one of those days--polish up the crystal ball, fellas.)

In '72 I thought it was Felonious too... but then I didn't know who Thelonious Monk was then.  But given their love of jazz...

I've always loved the name U Thant.

as Jack Parr once quipped: Is there an A Thant, a B Thant, a C Thant...

This. Is. Our f--k in the road! (I actually thought they were saying the F-word the first time I heard this.)

I just melt for the call-and-response between the strings and the horns on the bridge.  BOS from me.

Turns out your ears in '72 (and mine in '08) were right. From the Steely Dan site:

Felonius my old friend
Step on in and let me shake your hand
So glad that you're here again
For one more time
Let your madness run with mine
Streets still unseen we'll find somehow
No time is better than now

Our band used to do this song, and it was Felonius, which is what the lyrics sites say, but that doesn't prove anything!
[ETA: Urth had already researched this before my post took!]

And a no-brainer for BOS4: Stones, Rocks Off.

I see you talk, but I can't hear you speak...

(Sudden thought: Is that Keith singing the duet with Mick? They didn't do that too often that I can recall.)

It's definitely in my Top 5 productions of all time, a list I haven't compiled yet but which will also include "Back Stabbers" and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone."

it's considered an "old pop hit" as opposed to "World Class Rock", so they play the Jimmy Cliff remake.

Somewhere I have a live recording of JB sitting in with El Rayo-X doing a reggae version as "Doctor I Eyes."
