This may become a 10-way tie for me, but special mention to "Long Dark Road," a Hollies gem I've only ever heard on Dave's 10@10s.  I love this kind of road-weariness.

OK, English Congregation confirms the 10-way tie!

Looks like you're right--AMG sez I Believe in Father Christmas charted in '75.

And from the I Didn't Know That! department: Lake's bio on AMG says he wrote Lucky Man when he was around 12, then shelved it for a good while before recording it for inclusion on the first ELP album.

Mark, looks like we're back in sync again. I too didn't get around to calling in a Christmas greeting (too damn busy at work the last two days, and slept too late today--I have shifted to holiday mode in earnest). But my fondest wishes for a peaceful holiday to all of you, and may this little kaffeeklatsch prosper and continue for years to come.

Happy holidays to all. I also appreciate the comeraderie (sp?) and support throughout the year.

I'm going to be off work until Jan 2. Up in SF for family dinner Christmas Eve, then Mill Valley dinner on the 25th.

Best wishes to all for a great 2008.

Indeed, dittoes upon dittoes. This forum in which I post most excessively truly helps to keep me sane (or slightly less insane, perhaps) -- work would be unbearable without you guyz'n'galz. Indeed, Juno is high on my list for holiday movie fare, as is Charlie Wilson's War and I may try to get I'm Not There in, if it's still playing (the Embarcadero had it last week--hope I didn't snooze too long). Also I just found out that The Golden Compass is part of the His Dark Materials trilogy, which piques my interest a little more as I've heard great things about that work.

Was preoccupied with Casey Kasem and a not-bad Beatles Xmas show on KFRC this morning, so I tuned in for the tail end of the 1985 set. Then Dave did his usual "coming up: the best set of the week" pre-intro and sure enuf it was 1983 -- whenever Dave says "best of the week" it's always an early-'80s set regardless of the set's actual, y'know, quality.  ::)

2.  Procul Harum - Conquistador
3.  Raspberries - Go All the Way
4.  Hollies - Long Dark Road
5.  Jethro Tull - Christmas Song (BEST OF SET!!)
6.  Al Green - I'm Still in Love With You

And that brings us up to date. Sorry for all the "forum reordering" posts but as we'd missed 6 out of the last 10 set lists I figured it was worth it while they were still on the KFOG site. See y'all in 10 hours for the Xmas card set!
