Couldn't remember if it was you or Gaz to proxy WOS :-\
ETA: Maybe we'll get some Skynyrd and I can proxy for Gaz then. :D

-
right right bloody well right.
Did Dave say anything about "last set before vacay"? Sounds like one to me.
-
The stream is choking here at work; near-constant buffering produces near-constant suffering. Will read comments without listening. Hope you get something from Elton John or the Spinners.

It's the redunant lyrics (yes, I know he didn't write it). Fingernails on a blackboard for me.
But Shuggie sparkles pink-and-blue. Is it cool? Is it cool? Yes it is. BOS2.

I was in my car for the first two tunes, missed the Supertramp, which would have been BOS 1-3, and then distracted from getting my stream going again until now. VHM Strawberry Letter, but I prefer the Bros Johnson version.

Here's yer WOS: "Call Me The Breeze".
BTW, Gaz, I'm likely working OT tomorrow, so I'll be talkin' atcha around 8am Pacific, just in time for the last hour of Mr Kasem.
-
Here's yer Skynyrd, which I happen to like, though at first I thought it was ZZ Top's "Heard It on the X", which would be really great. But probably comes from later than 74. ETA: It was 75, so pretty close.
And second on the Bros Johnson version of SL23, a discussion we've had before...
-
BOS for Eddie Kendricks.
-
woohoo! boogie down!
-
woohoo! boogie down!
I can only BOS the full "Let my love flood your Watergate" version, which I only seem to hear on CGSS. But VHM to the late EK.
-
BOS3 Steve Miller "Yo' Cash Ain't Nothin' But Trash", bitch!
-
BOS for the Space Cowboy -- pretty rare I'd wager.
-
i voted too soon!! now i want to bos your cash ain't nothing but trash!

one of the few songs where Mr Miller's penchant for ridiculous rhymes is actually a plus.
Lawdy mama! Rock'n'Roll Hootchie Koo!
-
Well if this is actually the "last live set before holiday", Dave is sure ending on a high note. Woo Hoo for it all!!!!
-
VHM "Rock and Roll Hootchie Koo." Haven't heard this in a long time.

Hey, Rich. I bet there was some R&R Hootchie Koo at the volleyball game last night, eh? I didn't watch it, but I see Stanford won the set by 2 points!
Oooh, keeping the soul going strong. But who is this?
-
wow.
latimore.
dave's outta sight today.
-
BOS4 Latimore, "Let's Straighten it Out"! Dave played this once, within the last year, iirc. This set has indeed improved dramatically.
"You'n'me oughta be gettin it on" --well THAT'S direct!
-
BOS for the Space Cowboy -- pretty rare I'd wager.
phoned in my vote, and Dave says he's working next week.

Hi Dave, Yes the Womens Volleyball semifinals were awesome, but way too nerve-wracking to enjoy ... until Stanford had actually won. One of the closest match I've ever seen. Woo Hoo!!!!
-
Keep on smilin' Mike, even though we end with a Katrina!

and a big "wet" one at that! ;) Certainly Dave's best set of the week. His he a bum? or is he a star?
-
Are you a bummer? Are you a star? Wet Willie stunk, 'n there ya are.

We've had this discussion before -- is it:
"Are you a bum, or, are you a star?"
"Are you a bummer? Are you a star?"
"Are you a bomber? Are you a star?"
-
Annalisa loves that Little House clip -- 2nd time she's used it for her trivia question.
-
Y'all remember L-Dewd, from the old Yahoo group? He got a birthday mention!
-
right right bloody well right.

Alleluia! Our prayers are answered! The 10@10 Christmas Card of the Air returns!

Call in during the morning show this Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday with your greetings, and the set will air Monday the 24th--actually ON XMAS EVE! I think that's about as close to Christmas as we've had one debut (although they've certainly been rerun on Xmas eve and/or Xmas day). There are only two in the DB--12/20/2002 and 12/17/2004, and I don't think there's been one since '04.

Hard to believe there wasn't one in '03. But yeah, it's been 3 years without one. BTW, who's working Xmas Eve? I'm taking vacay days the 24th and the 31st, as they're regular workdays at Kaiser, but some companies are giving folks 4-day weekends.

I'm pretty sure there was one in 03, but it happened during a gap in the DB and it's not in my archive (mea culpa).
I'm off from the 21st thru Jan 1st, back to work on the 2nd. Company is closed for that entire time, with paid time off for all (not vacation). Probably the best benefit we get.
