LSD Rules! BOS Alioto, Haynes & Jeremiah!
a Bob/Drive regular becomes a Morey bustout! BOS and Partridges on the way!
-
BOS, LZ. But it was cool to hear the opener, which I've never heard before. Haven't listened to Bob in a long time, since I can't stream at work...
-
BOS2 the Mighty Zep.
-
Is this Vietnam War toy clip a Stan Freberg bit? I'm thinking it is.
BOS3 Bowie, Oh You Pretty Things.
-
OMFG! BOS3 this Stan Freberg anti-war ad!
and (of course) BOS4 Bowie. Dave's in rare form today.
-
so, Bowie thinks homos are superior? Do tell!
BOS5 Stylistics.

And this is our second trip to '71 in just over three weeks--last time here was October 19!

Obviously Dave just couldn't WAIT to play "Lakeshore Drive"
and jeez, this ABC Saturday jingle is new too!
OMGWTFLOL! Is this the JCS megamix???

My thought exactly--here's hoping!!!
(If we got both the Chambers Brothers and JCS megamixes within a week I think I'd probably explode.)
-
Liddsville on Saturday morning. I remember that!
Wow, BOS to everything so far, not least "JC Superstar".
...Buddha, was he where it's at? Is he where you are?
Could Mohammed move a mountain or was that just PR?

well, it's just JCS stand-alone. But BOS6 anyway. I'm flabbergasted by the fabulousness of this set. Gaz is missing out!
-
Hoo lawd! Rev Al BOS7. (!)

Nope, not the megamix. No explosions here--boy, are my cow orkers relieved. ;)
-
Wow, when "Baba O'Riley" is the closest thing to an overplayed song, that's saying something...
-
Hoo lawd! Rev Al BOS7. (!)
...and now for something completely different, "Baba O'Reilly". sounding great in this set.
interestingly, both this & "Going to California" are making only their 2nd Db appearances today.
-
Okay, ten way tie. 'Nother bos for the 'oo.

in regular rotation, but not in 10@10. see note above.

I'm flabbergasted by the fabulousness of this set. Gaz is missing out!
and we still haven't heard the Partridge Family yet!

For Gawd's Sake -- mo' POWAH! This will be a 12-way tie if you include Stan Freberg and the ABC Saturday jingle.

In complete agreement.
TANC: Over the last couple nights the wife and I watched a new Who documentary we ran across at the vid store: Amazing Journey: The Story of the Who. Surprisingly little overlap with The Kids are Alright in terms of footage, including some amazing stuff from '64 during the time they were the High Numbers. Also quite a bit more recent stuff, including the death of Entwistle as well as Moonie. Two discs, so lots there to take in.

Methinks Dave was holding it so it didn't overwhelm the BOS voting.
-
another bustout (I think)! "I Woke Up in Love"! FAB. YOO. LUSS!
I guess this is getting played because "I Think I Love You" won BOS in that VT recently.
-
BOS Partidges
EXCELLENT!!!!!!!
-
Very nice finish... Great single. Kieth is in fine voice.
ETA: Oooh, one more tune. Bad counting.
-
Sweet JEEZUS indeed!
-
a cow orker made me miss the BOS -- which was...?

LSD!
well, when ya *start* with LSD and end up one toke over the line...
-
One for the archives, eh? Alas, I was out shopping and running other errands. Maybe things'll be quiet enough at work tonight that I can catch the replay.
-
1. Aliotta, Haynes & Jeremiah - Lakeshore Drive (BEST OF SET!!)
2. Led Zeppelin - Goin' to California
3. David Bowie - Oh You Pretty Things
4. Stylistics - People Make the World Go Round
5. Murray Head - Superstar
6. Al Green - Tired of Being Alone
7. Who - Baba O'Reilly
8. Chi-Lights - (For God's Sake) Give More Power to the People
9. Partridge Family - I Woke Up in Love This Morning
10. Brewer & Shipley - One Toke Over the Line
BONUS TRACK: T.Rex - Mambo Sun
Ay caramba! the bonus was an even bigger bustout than LSD or the Partridges.
-
Already waiting for the replay. I was tuned in but the horridness that is work disrupted my listening pleasure.
