I don't know who this is, but it's pretty insipid.

When Dave does 1990, you can almost guarantee something from Toy Matinee, Michael Penn, Jellyfish & World Party, as well as "Birdhouse In Your Soul", "Blue Sky Mine" & "Suicide Blonde".
In case you missed it, Ginger played World Party, "Blue Sky Mine" & "Suicide Blonde".

Jellyfish
a proxy for POC tho'
-
BOS Ms Vega getting remixed -- a small piece of minimalist art.
-
BOS Suzanne Vega & what's their names, "Tom's Diner"
Trivia quiz - this song is written about a real diner that you've all seen on TV...where?

Really? I'm disappointed, 'cause I really like them. Not their best work.

The "Seinfeld" coffee shop, yes?
Yikes, "Suicide" again is making me suicidal.

Here's the de rigeur Toy Matinee.

Here's the de rigeur Toy Matinee.
Catchy little tune. Since I hardly remember '90 sets anyway, none of them seem like Katrinas to me.
-
Good riddance to bloody fookin' Thatcher!
-
BOS, The Black Crowes. A little rock'n'roll anyway.
-
Good guitar from the Black Crowes. I remember really welcoming them around this time as real rockers. Did get tired of them eventually.

me too, Dave usually plays "Jealous Again" this is actually another bustout, Db-wise.

Good riddance to bloody fookin' Thatcher!
Stand Down Margaret!

that's just the way it is, Maggie.

Actual riffs -- what a concept!
A little Crowe goes a long way, but welcome in the midst of, um, this.
-
and speaking of fraud and illusion -- Madonna!

two great Madonna segues in a row!

I'm willing to bet this is the Madonna song Dave has played most often, across-the-board. Which is sad, because her mid-'80s peak is awash in great pop singles far better than "Vogue".
-
VHM, Sinead. Very pretty song.
-
Sinead reappears.
-
So was this the Sinead that Ginger played?
(Crankypants alert: You guys are getting really lazy about not putting song titles (or at least acronyms) in yer posts--makes it tough to read behind after the fact.)
(Full disclosure: I spent 45 minutes standing in line dealing with Kaiser (no diss on you, Mike) this am just to get some medication and a flu shot that for some reason they were unable to provide on my last two visits.)
-
And Midnight Oil, but not one I know? Bustout or no? I dasn't say.

No, Ginger played "Empreor's New Clothes", much better imho.
But Dave gets props for digging down to "River Runs Red" instead of "Blue Sky Mine" - BOS #2 from me.

I feel your Kaiser pain.
Ginger (bless her) played "Emperors New Clothes". And now we get a diff Midnight Oil (she played "Blue Sky Mine") -- and methinks this might be a bustout?

Yes, very nice!

I dasn't say.
Wow -- I haven't heard anyone use the word "dasn't" since my grandmother died in 1970.

Along those lines, which Vaughn Bros song did Ginger play? Tick Tock?

I know that in the distant past, 'Shining Star' MUST have been played.

Sure wish he'd play "Live To Tell" sometime.

If you think you remember hearing it I won't argue, but it seems to me (& my Db) that Dave never played Madonna until about 3 years ago, outside of HFH sets. I've got about 70 sets from 80-84 prior to 2004, and she's nowhere to be found. All 3 HFH appearances are before Aug 2004, and everything else is since Dec 2004.

and that should be "lucky star" -- my bad.
Anyway, it got lost in the shift to page three on this thread -- can anyone tell me which Vaughn Brothers song got played by Ginger today?
