'68 was a month ago; '67 2 months ago... I dunno. A shamelessly self-promotional "archives" set?

I have been bracing myself for that.

They've been pushing it pretty hard since yesterday, so I would be not at all surprised.

Way...way...WAY back Dave sez--and it's 1967!!!
Your Mother Should Know, doncha know?
-
OMFG! '67!!!
-
BOS Beatles (yay) -- bought MMT with my Xmas $$$ that year.
-
Excellent way to start the weekend -- 1967.
Saw Bruce last night -- great show (as expected). I'm still totally pumped on his energy...

Well the album doesn't go on sale until next week Saturday, so we'll probably get the 10@10 set next week Friday.
-
ah wanna TESTIFY... that the Parliaments are BOS2!
-
This is only the 14th 1967 set on record, and both the Easybeats & Jackie Wilson have appeared in 6 of the previous 13.
I'm just sayin'
-
BOS Byrds. Last time Dave played this it was a 10-way tie in April 2003.

we heard "Higher & Higher" 2 weeks ago in that VT, I'll be annoyed if Dave plays it again. BOS3 Byrds.
That was George Romney (Mitt's dad?) talking about Vietnam, I believe

Hey Mark, it was great to see you again last night. And by the way, I'm highly impressed to hear that Tarkus was your 1st album purchase -- very progressive!!
-
OMFG! "See Emily Play"!!! I think we're in 10-way-tie territory.
-
The BeeGees tune was great, but I am sorely tempted to BOS this commercial montage. Hard to picture such things as flash cubes being the height of consumer photographic innovation....
-
BOS2...no, 3....make that 4...for Syd and the Pink Floyd. See Emily Play.

Cool seeing you again too! Walking out I was telling Dave that since we all work within a few minutes of each other we should have lunch once in a while.
Speaking of Prog, BOS #N+1 to the Floyd.

Hope you noticed the voice of the great Daws Butler (Elroy Jetson, Auggie Doggie and countless others) on that Raisin Bran spot.
-
Leonard Cohen!! "Suzanne"!! Dave's pulling out all the stops today. I'm still running a 10-way tie 6 songs in.

Hey Urth, last night I saw a guy whose t-shirt was exactly your avatar, which is why/when I left you a voicemail.
A big WOW! BOS for Leonard Cohen. Pretty sure this is vinyl.

Sorry to say I was divided between the set and working, so I wasn't able to truly focus on that. Will HAVE to catch the replay tonight.
Third truly stellar set within a week. Amazing.

ah, but you've never heard Disco-Texx (aka Monti Rock III) do "Suzanne".
Harry Reasoner meets the Hippies! this is priceless!

The guy he was interviewing sure sounded a lot like Jerry Garcia.

Great news clip, makes the "hippies" sound like some recently discovered culture living in the jungle. :-)
Oh and BOS Doors -- IMHO maybe the best opening song on a debut album of all time!!!!
-
proxy of Gaz, Monkees.
-
OMFG!! I'm a believer!! Micky Dolenz doing one of Neil Sedaka's best...
Rhyming "believer" with "leave her" is just genius.

You could be right. The only thing I can think of to compete was also '67 - "Purple Haze"

You must have been catching my vibes; also among my commute listening was Sedaka's "Laughter in the Rain."

hmmm...back then I liked the Monkees, but wouldn't put them in the same class as the others in this list. I guess now they seem different?

Depends upon how the individual defines BOS, i guess. "I'm a Believer" is a fantastic single, and always brings a smile to my face. But I wouldn't have voted it best in this crowd either.
"For What It's Worth" seems the most qualified to me, over-exposed as it might be. And, it lacks the innocent joy of the Monkey's tune. Polar opposites, really. But both great. As was pretty much everything else.
