And we're supposed to hear from Larry Craig.
In the meantime, cue the Springsteen--we've got Jenny on the line...

Very disturbing.

all Larry Craig DOES is Talk Talk.

So did Talk Talk name themselves after this song?
-
my stream just crapped out.

Same thing happened to me, but you can still successfully connect through the KFOG.com site. Got back in at the end of "Six Months in a Leaky Boat."

Good thing you didn't say that yesterday, when it was a real concern.

Dammit!!
We just had an audio clip that featured Reagan and someone else (but I wasn't paying attention--work was taking precedence) and now we're hearing the Enz, Six Months in a Leaky Boat. I suspect I missed a rather pointed segue.
Get yerselves some radios, guys. Hardly ever lose the stream. ;)
Ick, Asia on now.

actually neither were working when it died -- I think your timing was just good.
WOS Asia -- worse than "Heat of the Moment", even.
-
I'm glad Asia's producers exercised restraint!
-
Asia, when all my dime-dancing is through...
well, their lyrics are barely worth ten cents!
-
WOS Asia -- worse than "Heat of the Moment", even.
Yep, but after the two sets we got Friday and yesterday, Dave has a bit of slack coming.

I'll agree -- esp if the Larry Craig clip is worthy.

another good one!
2 '82 sets 2-day, 2 Asia tracks, Andy Stitzer & I are in heaven!!!!

Y'know how I know Asia's producers are gay...
-
HM to "I Burn for You," just heard last week in Sting's birthday trib.
-
Sting burns for you. Or maybe it was the szechuan chicken.
-
So... he hadn't been named, but he issued a denial anyway? LOL!
segue of the MONTH!!!
-
All hail Josie Cotton! And all hail Dave! Color me tremendously impressed.
-
OK, there's your Larry Craig clip--into Johnny Are You Queer?!!!
Segue of the week, maybe the month!!
-
BOS to Josie Cotton on principle and to Santana on guilty pleasure (the vox are almost Craptonesque but I like the melody).

"and what principle would that be?"
BOS to JC/LC from me too, tho' I can't agree on Santana-at-their-weakest.

Definitely a bunch of saxes, including soprano. I was gonna say vibes, but I didn't start wondering until it had already happened.

amen, brotha! BOS2 King Crimson. Oh, Mr. Fripp!

"The Great Pumpkin, if he existed, would be horrified." That's some quote.

I don't think I've heard this before. I recognized Adrian Belew, but this track has got a distinct Todd vibe to it.

doesn't diminish, but only 1 1/2 yrs since we heard this. And vinyl too, if memory serves.

no sh*t!

Such a fine line sometimes between good prog (this) and dreck like Asia.
BOS3 Sparks!

This was the single off Beat, the second album from the early 80s incarnation of Crimso. Belew, Fripp, Tony Levin on bass & chapman stick and Bill Bruford on drums. One of the most powerful bands I've ever seen.

Real competition for BOS today between this, the Crimson and the Enz tracks. I went for KC.

"They're gonna find the Queen is a man, but nobody will care. I predict!
They're gonna stop Saturday nights, so you better have fun - NOW! I predict.
They're gonna stop havin' the Sun, so you better get tan - NOW! I predict."
ETA: but I didn't predict that weak Santana would beat out all the other exemplary stuff in this set...and from the sound of it, neither did Dave.
-
Pretty great '82 set. Heavy on the prog and pseudo prog, but very good. No Henley, no Men at Work, no problem.

I always think of the Music Machine's song "Talk Talk" but no mention of that in AMG. I guess if it's that old, it never happened.
-
OK, there's your Larry Craig clip--into Johnny Are You Queer?!!!
Segue of the week, maybe the month!!
I actually missed it the first time around, but hearing it now on the replay, all I can say is OH MY GOD!!
Not just that Dave dug that out (wouldn't be surprised if someone sent that to him actually), but Larry Craig sounded as utterly unconvincing as it is possible to sound.

As I said yesterday -- the clip made it clear his name hadn't been mentioned (in fact no one's names had been made public), yet he felt compelled to issue a denial anyway! And of course it was right after that, that this "lifelong batchelor" suddenly got married to a woman with 2 kids and acquired ready-made family values. Sheesh.

I trotted the Music Machine song out last night after reading this, hadn't heard it in years. So similar to Love's "My Little Red Book"!

I guess they both fall into that proto-punk category.
