Jeez, not much of a week so far. Maybe this is payback for the way-way-way-back VT we had last week.

Was definitely hoping for a better year.  Two bad songs to start.  Boo.  Collective Wimpiness.

Amen. WOS to The Corrective Soles. Can't believe this band is still slogging along.

Now if he'd played the Dolly Parton version, well, at least you could think about boobs.

Slight upswing on tune #3. What's the Frequency Kenneth.

Looking thru the Shraytabase at what we've gotten in '94 in the past, have to say the only thing that can redeem this set for me is NRBQ.

Some people call it "The Joker" on valium, but it's "Leaving Las Vegas".  What happened to Sheryl in Vegas shoulda stayed in Vegas...

Hot Crow in Sin City.  Does she really drive up to barstow and pick up truckers?  No wonder Lance dumped her.

Well, those political clips of Darth Gingrich nearly redeemed the set. WOS DMB.

Satellite is a bustout, but I'm not sure we really care.

At least it's not one of the most frequently played DMB songs.  CS still wins WOS for me.  No BOS candidates yet.  And I have a meeting in 5 minutes, which is probably good.

I don't know that "Ready for Love" song.  Pretty good, BOS, since I'm done now.

Lenny Kravitz, I think. Withholding my vote, but expectations are low.

thanks for the ID -- don't remember that getting KFOG play in '94.

BOS Martin Landau in Ed Wood. VHM U2.

I'll bos Mr. Petty, though it's not much of an distinction in this crowd.

Tentative BOS to TP & the HBs--yet another bustout (the Kravitz, DMB & U2 were as well). Still, hard to get too enthusiastic about songs that are still in the regular KFOG rotation.

ETA: I retract that--Last Dance with Mary Jane is not a bustout.

I was afraid that was who this was--didn't know the song, but recognized the vocals. Not tough to see why they didn't last long.

one of the great ironies that year -- their follow-up to ...Kryptonite flopped, but the Ugly Americans copied their sound and had a big hit.

Proxy of Gaz: Seal.

Ah, no love for the Spin Doctors?  "My girlfriend's cat is smarter than me"

Crap, I always forget Dave's Yahoo or AIM id.  Also wanted to get in my protest vote for that nice Lenny Kravitz song I've never heard before.

Yah, feh, might as well have called it "KFOG World Class 10@10"

BTW, what was the movie clip?  Oh duh, BOS to Martin Landau up above, and my wife just told me it was Ed Wood.  (The family is all WFH today because the son is sick.  You should see us all in our pajamas at the kitchen table each w/ our laptops.)

Annalisa eclipses the entire set in one fell swoop: she peer-pressured the Foghead into picking Grant Lee Buffalo, Mockingbirds. Very fine.

wow, a Crow and a Seal lead the '94 Katrina list. I'll give Dave credit for the Kravitz (which got no KFOG love at the time iirc) and give him a WTF for the Spin Doctors, which also got little KFOG play, not to mention horrible reviews.  I'd've preferred that Spin Docs-clone "Vulcan Death Grip" by the Ugly Americans.

They moved into a tie with Weezer's "Buddy Holly", which was previously 5/7.  Given that there are 2 other BIG hits on that Weezer album it's astonishing that Dave only seems to know the one.

So yeah, kudos for 4 bustouts of varying quality, if we get 4 more in each of the next several '94 sets it will go a long way towards diversification.
