First trip to '79 in nearly two months--August 23 was the last time here.

Hoping we get a deep track off Armed Forces--maybe Party Girl or Two Little Hitlers?

not a bad start, familiar tunes, but not Katrinas.  Kind of feel like some Tarney-Spencer myself.

Bonus segue points: the Who Cincinnati tragedy into A Message To You, Rudie (and BOS while we're at it).

Time to straighten right out...

I may have mentioned this before, I was visiting a girl in Cincy two weeks before this happened & we saw the Eagles in that venue.  She kept bumping into friends of hers & I swear more than one asked her if she had tickets to the upcoming Who concert.

also of note, I took a Greyhound on that trip & from Indy to Cincy I wound up sitting next to a good-looking blonde who turned out to be Don Felder's cousin.

speaking of Cincy, I see Dusty Baker's agreed to manage the Reds next year.

That's good, 'cause he was pretty useless sitting in for Joe Morgan as Jon Miller's sidekick on a couple playoff radio broadcasts I heard in the past week.

VHM to "We Are Fam-ah-Lee," great October song, evocative of the '79 Pirates (Willie Stargell, Dave Parker, John Candelaria, Kent Tekulve ...)

At least Miller never had to directly ask Morgan, "so what do you think of that?"  If your play by play man has to come out & request commentary from you, you pretty much suck as a commentator.  Seriously, Dusty sounded like he was being prevented from finishing his nap.

Yep, we got the single instead of a deep cut, but I'd never complain about Accidents Will Happen. Big sledgehammer for me with this song, have to tell you about it some time.

The word "Chinee" should only be used when preceded by the adjective "wily."

Can't say I knew it, though I should, since we have "Repeat When Necessary", but only on LP.  Seems Nick Lowe, GP and even Status Quo recorded it.

Props to the Foghead for not jumping on the first song Annalisa suggests for the bonus track. Instead he passed on the Kinks and Flasn & the Pan to name two, and went for  Tim Curry!! I Do the Rock (which would make a good addition to our baseball set over in the sports thread...I could never whack a ball with such velocity...)

(Annalisa sounded a little peeved that it took the guy so long to make a choice, but hey, I'd rather hear all the options than those turkeys that take the second song she names.

I know - because she & I have talked about it - that she likes Tim Curry a lot, so she can't have been all that peeved.  But we're having very erratic internet connectivity today so I missed it.
