Heard a promo yesterday--any guesses which year we get?
-
68
-
68
we did '68 exactly two weeks ago, '69 exactly two weeks before that, and '67 exactly two weeks before that.
Maybe '66 for the first time in nearly two years?
-
Given that we got vertical in the '60s on Wed, I'm gonna guess '71, we haven't been there since August.
-
Here's a hint: it's a year we haven't heard yet today.

did the promo promise 60's??
-
BOS Crow, just 'cause it's "Evil Woman" and not "Cottage Cheese".
-
First Crow does their best BS&T impression, now more horny horns! VHM "Q67&68"
-
1969 is Bob's favorite year over on the Drive.
I hope Dave can eschew Steam, Spirit & maybe even Tyrone Davis, this time around.

not to mention "Someday We'll Be Together".

wouldn't "Cottage Cheese" be in 1970 anyway?
-
touch me in the barn and sound your alarm!
-
Glad you were able to ID Crow--I had no idea, just knew it was one of those midwestern boogie bands (see also: Grand Funk).
BOS1 & 2, Chicago and Desmond Dekker.
Used to think Israelites was the weirdest sounding song ever (when I was about 10).

we've only heard that once this year, and it wasn't even tune number ten when we got it. Only heard Desmond once this year too, and both over 6 months ago. The 3 I mentioned were in 2 of the last 3 sets from '69, one of which was a dupe classic from the year before.

yes -- late '69 LP release, "Evil Woman" as a single is on the cusp.
WTF was that yodellly thing?
and now we're kickin' out the JAMS muthafu---! BOS2.
-
WHOA!!! Dave's feelin' his Motor City roots!! uberBOS to MC5!
Kick out the jams, MOFOs!!

Kick out the jams & kick out the mofo bustouts too!
Back in March Dave played the Stooges "1969", but I dare say this tops even that.

no such luck.
-
I hope Dave can eschew Steam...
ooops.
Along Van's "Brown Eyed Girl", one of the most-overplayed (and beloved by the masses) oldies of all time.
-
hell yeah, i'd drink pepsi if bb king told me to.
-
"Drive a cougar" -- that's your slogan, isn't it princess? Maybe they'll come out with a car called the MILF.
-
BOS Fleetwood Mac
-
BOS4 FMac, Oh Well!!
Btw, greetings Princess. How's life as a married lady treating you?
-

no such luck.
Okay, I now have 40 sets from 1969, incl today, and Steam is in 10 of them. For two frink points, how often has "Na Na, Hey Hey, Kiss Him Goodbye" been tune number ten?
-

it's great so far! she's still in the "whatever you say, dear" phase. ;) it's especially helpful since i'm an invalid. i injured my foot on our pilgrimmage to mont st michel (too much quicksand in low tide called for using new, undiscovered toe muscles!).

"get back Jo-Jo" -- one of the few corny lines thay actually resisted using in Across the Universe.
-
Nice Cronkite Woodstock clip -- possibly one we've not heard before.
-
BOS2 CS&N ... Awesome long set today -- woo hoo!!!

No kidding--I was guessing that Suite: Judy Blue Eyes was tune # 10. Yet here's Iron Butterfly. Or are we getting 11@10?
-
damn this IS a long set! Making up for Wednesday's shortfall.
-
And a great choice for the bonus! Stones, Monkey Man!
Hope we're not too messianic, or a trifle too satanic...
-

long version of Oh Well?
Yep, it was. The nylon-stringed guitar part was just gorgeous; hadn't really listened to it in a good long while.
So what was Best of Set? I don't remember what Dave said, and they didn't put it in the list.
-
BOS to "Wishful Sinful." Which tangentially reminds me, happy belated Coming Out Day to those for whom applicable!

"Two bits, four bits, six bits, a dollar!
All you Glads fans, stand up and holler!"
(My high school was the Gladiators. And I'm sure the cheerleaders there had no idea what "bits" were in that context.)
