More Hiatt to start -- bangin' like-a Charlie Watts.  Actually, i think

"I used to think our house was haunted
'cause nobody said BOO! to me"

is a clever line. He's done some fine writing along the way.

doesn't lack of BOO! equate to lack of haunting?

I dig John Hiatt.  Saw him at the Mountain Winery with the Mississippi All-Stars, who are also very good.

Wish I could share your enthusiasm, but I don't think this one holds up that well. And "sheriff's on the airwaves talking to the D.J.'s" still sounds to me like "Cher is on the airwaves..."

BOS LL! "Goin' back to Cali"!

Lloyd bitch-slaps Danny boy.  One of the great moments in politics.

And lo, just as I said the other day: Dave plays this Midnight Oil album in '88, not '87.

BOS2 Divine for the 2nd time in a week -- same great clip. "Hairhoppers" indeed!

and BOS Los Lobos. Great tune from one of my least-favorite Disney 'toons.  God, that Mowgli kid is annoying.

Or as Nicholas Cage put it in Raising Arizona, "I tried to stand up and fly straight, but it wasn't easy with that sumbitch Reagan in the White House. I dunno. They say he's a decent man, so maybe his advisors are confused."

Yup, I should see him tomorrow.  It's a band reunion, so there's a banquet tomorrow as well as football-related stuff.  Gotta hope it doesn't rain on us.  The banquet is outside (the Mausoleum).

I was just about to tip my hat to Dave for avoiding all but one of the most egregious Katrinas.

Not any more.

TTD like a bandit, stealing a spot from a more worthy song or twelve, and moving up, percentage-wise.

At this point (incl. today) they've shown up 15.6% of the time.  Usual suspect maybe, but there's plenty ahead of them in the line to katrinafy.

Love that album. If you don't have a copy, seek out a used copy as I think it's no longer in print. I touted Gaz onto one at Amoeba last December when he was here.

Missed a good chunk of the set as the cable guy came right at the stroke of 10 (I'm working at home today for that reason). Bummed to miss the LL Cool J tune, for novelty alone, but I did catch most of the Lobos track. Not sorry to miss TTD though.

One of the many tribute projects headed by producer Hal Wilner -- he had previously done a Kurt Weill trib with the likes of Sting and Lou Reed, and his Leonard Cohen trib concert was released as a documentary. And he basicaly started a subgenre, or at least gave it legitimacy.
