I was supposed to have a 10am meeting that got pushed to tomorrow, also at 10. Given that we're in '86 today, I'd almost rather have kept my meeting for today, and taken my chances with tomorrow.

True in this case.

Talk Talk is the only Katrina lined up for us (& I still enjoy LWYMI regardless), and we're getting it over with early.

Stay tuned for rare TH, DOA & UB40.

Indeed, I was actually hoping for '89 or something equally horrendous (i.e., a year I KNOW has no hope) so I'd have an excuse to tune elsewhere.  But '86 can go either way.  Mark -- any hints?  A Blow Monkeys appearance?

See Mark's previous post.

So I don't want any more clues on content than what you gave us already, but when did this set first air?

ETA: Oops, i missed your post that told us just that up at the top of the thread.

Hey now! BOS TH.

Agreed on the BOS (and this is indeed a rarity) but I just realized that Byrne copped the groove for this song (and the "hey now" part of the chorus) from Iko Iko.

I just realized that too.  At first I thought that was Bob Weir singing...

Okay, no more hints, but here's a list of the '86 Katrinas you won't be hearing today (except the 1st), in order of severity.

Talk Talk - Life's What You Make It - 32%
Blow Monkeys - Diggin' Your Scene - 27%
Call - Everywhere I Go - 24%
Stranglers - Dreamtime - 24%
Art Of Noise - Peter Gunn - 22%
BoDeans - Fade Away - 22%

ETA: Oops, at first glance I thought there was a different Stranglers tune in this set.  There's one more Katrina on deck as well.

classic or no, I think this is the 3rd '86 set in a row that's given us "Dreamtime".

BOS2 DOA!  Somehow I don't think their lead singer finds ANYTHING "hard to swallow".

I've always disliked the Call.  Really unimaginative instrumental parts.  And of course, the lyrics suck too.

I meant *instead of* the Goat, not in addition to...

BOS to the UB40 though.

Yikes! CH in the year of the LP's release (and not the year it was actually getting airplay). No fair!
