cue the Stray Cats...
I'm stunned that they weren't the TOTHK.
-
But I'll give a big fat BOS to "New Gold Dream". Excellent.

He's probably sick of it by now, having played it at least once this morning already. And "New Gold Dream" is a good start, as is Saga...

In fact, i think they're giving away a prize every time they play "Rock This Town" all week. So maybe we'll escape unscathed.

Was NGD Simple Minds?
And was Saga the poor man's Styx or the poor man's Loverboy?

The destitute, living-in-a-cardboard-box man's Loverboy  WOS from me, I don't understand the love for this one.
-
BOS "Images of Heaven" and proxy of shray.
ETA: oops, didn't see that you were here, bub! Do yer own damn BOS

Heh, I think they're the poor-man's Marillion, but what do I know?
It's prog-spandex, dude!
-
I missed the opening, BTW -- is this supposed to be date-specific, or just generic '82?

I think Dave just nailed it. '82, the year of Asia, was rife with it.
BOS tie so far Simple Minds & Roxy Music.
-
BOS2 Rodney D.
Where do we go? Destination: Katrina!
-
"Worlds Away", one of Dave's better Naradas
-
BOS3 Strange Advance.
Yep, this set sure sounds like 82/83 to me. Shock the Monkey would seal the deal.

My boss just Skyped me, had to turn off the audio. So thanks after all for the proxy!

Hope you had fun celebrating yr bday yesterday, Jim!
Guess this is Flash 'n the Pan? Sounds very Hey-St.-Peter-esque.
-
another Morey fave: Flash & the Pan. Not even how'd'you do.
Sorry to wear crankypants at a birthday party; but this is pretty rote stuff. Is this what KFOG sounded like their first week? Guess some R&B is out of the question, eh? Or at least Kim Wilde.
-
I wasted my BOS on Strange Advance when I could have waited for The English Beat. Oh well.

you wasted it on Strange Advance when you could've wasted it on the English Beat
Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Yep, I did--thanks for asking. Spent the weekend beachcombing in west Marin, then paid a visit to Village Music yesterday afternoon. It was kind of a zoo, but they've marked everything down for the last month, and John was taking in cash hand over fist. They've got a bunch of old R&B posters and the like for pretty cheap--I picked up one featuring Tyrone Davis playing at Keshia's Inn in Oakland for about $10, and another with Little Jimmy Scott playing one of the fabled Village Music parties at the Sweetwater for $5. And all the vinyl is marked down too.

BOS to "Uniform"!!

Wow, you're taking Cranky Pants to a new level.

BOS3 "Uniform". If he followed this with "I Love a man in a ..." I'd take back the crankypants.

FYI, Dave & Co are broadcasting live from Village Music on Thurs morning.

I should've seen "Never Say Never" coming. BOS2, and I'm outta here, off to work.

-
Fat lead singers must be discreet! BOS4 Romeo Void, even tho' it'll be the "give a kcuf" version.

-

Dave played "Synchronicity I" in the wrong year? I'm shocked! Shocked, I tells ya!

Three notes on the setlists as posted on kfog.com:
1) today's BOS was Saga, but Big Rick played Roxy Music this evening instead (& I thought he liked prog rock!)
2) there was no bonus track listed today, anybody catch what it was?
3) they musta got a new intern...last week "The Beatles (Yay!)" suddenly replaced "The Beatles (Yeah!)".

I thought he didn't do that anymore? We suddenly started getting 2- and 3-way ties recently after a long period of only one daily winner (which was supposedly in deference to Big Rick's BOS replay).

I don't think there was a bonus track yesterday--probably due to the Rock of Ages promo they have going on.

Maybe Rick took matters into his own hands, because he always played the bonus track between 5:50 & 6:00, and yesterday at precisely that time he played the Roxy track. However I flipped channels & don't know if he actually said anything about it.
