Had a feeling it was gonna be '76--it was due.
-
Wake Up, Every Ali!
-
Is this a loooooong version? I don't remember hearing his demands on the pusher and the preacher, et al.
-
Jimmy C turns the political beat around!
-
Give the government back to the people and then turn the beat around ... works for me. :-)
-
And after the beat is fully rotated, you can start practicing your Night Moves....

indeed -- certainly not the usual radio edit. But I wish Dave'd play the *short* version of "Night Moves" today  Points all her own, settin' way up high.

BOS "Silver Springs" The goat at her least goaty.
-
Whoa--another FM near-bustout. It's been since June of 02 that Silver Springs last came out of the box.
-
Wake Up, Every Ali!
Damn, missed it.

BOS "Silver Springs" The goat at her least goaty.
Always lovely.
-
BOS2 Boz! "Tell Me Tomorrow", another of the lesser-played tracks from the fabulous Silk Degrees.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Very lovely, un-sheepish performance.
-
BOS2 Boz! "Tell Me Tomorrow", another of the lesser-played tracks from the fabulous Silk Degrees.
"Tell Me"? Shirley, you jest.

I totally agree, what a great album.
-
Oooh, ain't never gonna post without the fez on.
-
And what would mid-70's be without some Steely Dan? Big part of my musical world back then...

Tell Me, Love Me, Hold me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me!

Damn missed most of the Boz tune dealing with a sudden small crisis here.
It's under control now, and I am firmly ensconced with my fez.

"You're My Best Katrina"
BOS from me, I'm still not tired of this song...

Somebody else played "39" off of this album in the last week or so, either Rob or Ginger, and I sure wish Dave would follow suit.
-
Aaack! WOS Wild Cherry, I really coulda done w/out this one today.
-
wooo hooo Wild Cherry.
Play that funky music.

I'd be thrilled if he did. Either that or I'm In Love With My Car--both are notably absent.
-
mmmm, dreamy weavings...
Bos Gary Wright, for flashback purposes alone.
-
Dream Weaver always nice.
I've just closed my eyes again
Climbed aboard the dream weaver train
Driver take away my worries of today
And leave tomorrow behind
Ooh dream weaver
I believe you can get me through the night
Ooh dream weaver
I believe we can reach the morning light
Fly me high through the starry skies
Maybe to an astral plane
Cross the highways of fantasy
Help me to forget today's pain
Though the dawn may be coming soon
There still may be some time
Fly me away to the bright side of the moon
And meet me on the other side

Dave was really going gangbusters there for a while, but Queen/Wild Cherry/Gary Wright is a rather pedestrian trifecta to close on, IMHO.
Sorry, my im,pending sigmoidoscopy ahs me wearing premature cranky pants.

You are excused. I actually had to look it up, and I wish I had not. Good luck with that, bud.

I was wondering about the cranky pants ever since you called "Roundabout" a Katrina in the previous set.

I saw a standup comedian do practically a whole routine on that once:
The doctor told me they were going to just 'look around'. Two minutes in and I asked him, "What are you looking for, a parking spot?"
But seriously, take care bub.

I'm talkin' 'bout the dope pusher!
Stop pushin' that dope!
Dope users!
Stop usin' the dope!
BOS, even though I continue to use the dope.
-
Jimmy C turns the political beat around!
I'm talkin' 'bout the beat turner!
Start turnin' that beat!
Flute player!
Start playin' the flute!
(Sorry.)

And after the beat is fully rotated, you can start practicing your Night Moves....
Night mover!
Start movin' the night!
(not sorry anymore)

I'm gonna regret using the word, but her vocal is truly mesmerizing on that one. BOS2 from me. But what a set so far.
This Boz is new, or at least rare, to my ears. His Hits! comp really did include the wrong songs, dinnit? Perhaps I should seek a box?
PS: He gets damn wiggy here! http://youtube.com/watch?v=afBdFyE7PeE He does the "Monty Burns" and the "Groucho Duckwalk" as well as the "Linda Evans Shoulder Shiv." But not, alas, the "Modified Ba-fungu."

No, you just need to own a copy of Silk Degrees, silly. Virtually every track on it coulda been a hit single if they'd released 'em all.

I'd advocate getting a copy of Slow Dancer while you're at it. It didn't get nearly the sales or the chart success that Silk Degrees did two years later, but I think the performances are just as good.
