Let's Work Together sounds pretty vinyly to me.  Though everything kind of does on the stream of woe.

Wow, it's been a LONG time since Dave gave us Little Sister's "You're the One."  BOS from me.  And I think this is vinyl too.

Sunday morning KPIG palyed the scratchiest vinyl version of Cat Stevens' "Moonshadow" ever.

BOS One "You're the 1" -- don't blame yo' neighborhood!

Dammit -- staff meeting. Bye!

Wow, what a segue, from Nixon telling "these young people here" that we were fighting in Vietnam to ensure "a full generation of peace" afterwards, right into "Don't Give Me No Hand-Me-Down World".

BOS Guess Who, of course.

No doubt. And the Vietnam clips were pretty poignant too--was the first one Agnew?

Pretty much BOSes across the board so far.

VHM from me.  BTW, if you seek out Chris Isaak's version on YouTube, the video alludes in a rather risque way to him pleasuring himself.

And VHM in spite of its dippy lyrics to a tune that only Dave remembers, "As the Years Go By."  I think he has fun pronouncing "Mashmakan."

3 things about Kent State:

- one of the 4 killed was surnamed Schroeder, but not a relative of mine.
- hardly anyone ever puts Jackson State in the same breath with Kent State anymore.  4 dead white kids vs. 2 dead black kids...draw your own conclusions.
- the protests came with the admission, after months of flat administration denials, that the USAF had been bombing deep into Cambodia (a supposed ally) in order to disrupt the 'Ho Chi Minh' trail used by No. Vietnam to supply the Viet Cong.

So there was more than one vinyl tune, but I wasn't paying attention...what were they?

Was anyone else hearing hints of "Why Can't We Be Friends" in that final part of the Sly song?

The only bad thing about today's set is that I guess Alicat isn't going to get her request for a 1970 set for her birthday next Monday.

Oh well.

You REALLY need to see "Avenue Q".

And I remember Mashmakan's "As Years Go By" -- and always point out its seeming influence on Fastball's "The Way".

While on one hand I agree about the black/white thing, the point about Kent State actually revolves around that fact.  It's historically not that unusual to find examples of the power structure killing black protesters.  But Kent State had the power structure so freaked out, they essentially killed their own children.  That was new.  Kind of like the end of the movie Joe.

Loved the replay -- an early Set o' the Week contender, belated BOS's to "That's the Way", one of my all-time Zep top 3 -- I got LZ3 for Xmas that year -- and to Sly. "...Star" was the flip of "TY(FBMEA)" iirc.

That's a good point Geoff, thanks.
