By virtue of solo Westerberg (& a proxy for Urth), I'd say Ginger has already won.

And although Dave gets a lot of credit for yesterday pulling Wailing Souls out of the hat, Ginger has played them previously.

indeed, BOS "First Glimmer" -- I don't remember hearing this on KFOG in '93.

On the other hand, Dave did manage to avoid Sheryl Crowsfeet.

WOS.  She sounds like someone put a gun to her head and told her to sing like Rickie Lee, or else.

Indeed, was very surprised to hear solo Westy, off 14 Songs, I think. Good pick, Ginger.

That William Orbit tune she played in the #5 slot was totally new to me--but as she said, it draws you in. Very nice--I'll give it at least a VHM just for first impressions.

I believe she's played him before -- didn't he collab with Madonna?

BOS3 Roseanne Cash, from her "country radio won't play me anymore, maybe I can get Triple-A to bite" period.

Not sure. Are you sure you aren't thinking of Joe Henry? I know they've done some stuff together. (He's married to Madge's sister.)

BOS2 to World Party, Is It Like Today? Not quite up to Goodbye Jumbo standards, but that's a hard act to follow.

per the wacky Wiki: " perhaps best known to most for his work on Madonna's album Ray of Light, which received four Grammy Awards. He has also co-produced several unreleased Madonna songs originally recorded for other albums that were never used. "

What is it about those expat New Orleanians that they just LOVE in Boulder? (See also: Subdudes, Nevilles).

Per the commercial they played on the stream after today's set, in Wyoming there's a Curt Gowdy State Park. Who knew?

I met Joe Henry at a music industry conference a few years ago.  Admire his work ethic but I recall getting the feeling that he'd drunk some bad kool-aid w/r/t blaming downloaders for the ills of the music industry.  Also, he had the worst coffee-breath I've ever encountered in my life.   :o
