could be a sucky next 4 weeks, what with guaranteed classics every Friday while the Mornig SHow crew goes local.

Btw, I'll defintitely go to Gordon Biersch in SJ this Friday, any one else up for it?

'93 indeed--get ready to haver!!

Didn't they hit Gordon Biersch during one of the Morning Show remotes a couple of years ago? Or was that the SF location?

AAACK! Proclaimers. I was afraid this would make an appearance.

I'd give anything to hear Tina Turner's "I Don't Wanna Fight" but the chances are slim-to-none.

Prepare for Sting, REM and EJ's "Simple Life"....

Havering is the only thing that can save 93.  And they definitely did hit GB last time -- wish I could go.

Ooh, I take it back.  Widespread Panic did wonders for 93.

One more thought on the Proclaimers: Has 500 Miles ever appeared in the year in which it was originally released (1988)? Seems like it's always attached to its Benny & Joon resurgence in '93.

A big y-a-a-a-a-a-w-n from me for Whitebread Picnic.

Proclaimers is surprisingly not a Katrina.  I've got the last 9 visits* to '93 in my Db, and it's' only in there once.

In fact 1993 only has one really egregious Katrina (Annie L. "Little Bird", 5 times) otherwise no song appears more than 3 times.  That said 2 of 'em are Widespread Panic, so pretty good chance of one or the other.

*there are probably no more than 2 other '93 sets out there.

As long as we can dodge 4-Non(talented) Blondes I'll breathe easy.

Other usual suspects: Stereo MC's, TFF, Haddaway & Tasmin Archer.

ETA: and Cranberries, Phish & Gin Blossoms, but I wouldn't really mind any or all of  them, that's what I was listening to a lot back then.

Wonder if we'll get any grungier than the Stoned Pimple Toilets?

And who's this singing about Birmingham? Sounds like JCM.

It is.  Early BOS from me, only 2nd time Dave has spun it.

it is -- a bustout, methinks. I don't remember KFOG playing this in '93.

ETA: if Mark says it's been played before, then it has.  I musta been out sick that day

BOS Wailing Souls, "Shark Attack" -- which I have never heard at a Sharks game, astoundingly.

Not based on past performance.  Only one Nirvana song, & no other Seattle band in the Db.

Now that's what I call a bustout.

Someone needs to call Razsty & tell him Dave actually played some reggae by someone not surnamed Marley, Tosh or Cliff.  His head would explode!

Amazing that this is the first time Dave's played this, because it was a KFOG playlist staple in '93 -- I was listening pretty heavily that year and they played it to death.

I'm kinda enjoying this "God Never Listens" tune--guessing it's Phish but wouldn't bet the farm on it. Likely another bustout, whoever it is.

It's "Lifeboy", which Dave has now played 3 times in '93 sets.  And like the other song he's played in a '93 set, "Wolfman's Brother" it comes from the album Hoist, which came out in 1994.

He *should* be playing tunes off of the 1993 album Rift, like the title track or "Sparkle".

Billy Joel, yes? Safe to say another bustout--I don't think we've heard BJ in any sets later than '89 before this.

Now THIS one I seem to remember hearing once before, which is why I remembered the proxy of Gaz.  Unless Rob or Ginger have played it.

Ooh, here's some really grungey grunge.  Can't believe I'm issuing a 4th BOS, but there it is.

Not hard to mimagine.  There was undoubtedly a '93 set or two before July '04, after which my Db is complete.  Bustout (as always) only insofar as my records indicate.

Nope.

And Urth's right about not hearing any Billy Joel later than "We Didn't Start Paying Attention In History Class Until We Got The Idea For A Song".
