Well, I doubt we'll hear Gilda Radner again, but I'm betting it'll still be pretty damn interesting.
BTW, anybody know whether Big Rick replayed the Gilda yesterday afternoon?

and sure enuf: rarely-heard Dire Straits, "Southbound Again".

This should be good.
Ricki Lee
A long stretch of headlights
Bends into I-9
Tiptoe into truck stops
And sleepy diesel eyes
Volcanoes rumble in the taxi
And glow in the dark
Camels in the driver's seat
A slow, easy mark
But you ran out of gas
Down the road a piece
Then the battery went dead
And now the cable won't reach...
It's your last chance
To check under the hood
Last chance
She ain't soundin' too good,
Your last chance
To trust the man with the star
You've found the last chance Texaco
Well, he tried to be Standard
He tried to be Mobil
He tried living in a world
And in a shell
There was this block-busted blonde
He loved her - free parts and labor
But she broke down and died
And threw all the rods he gave her
But this one ain't fuel-injected
Her plug's disconnected
She gets scared and she stalls
She just needs a man, that's all
It's her last chance
Her timing's all wrong
Her last chance
She can't idle this long
Her last chance
Turn her over and go
Pullin' out of the last chance Texaco
The last chance

and even-rarelyer-heard Rickie Lee Jones, "Last Chance Texaco". 2 BOS-for-rarity votes in a row.

Just tuned in and already one BOS--Roxy's lovely Ain't That So, a deep cut off Manifesto.
TANC, the KFOG morning show today had a (prerecorded) interview Peter did with Bryan Ferry, hyping his Dylanesque album. No definite plans to tour the US, but he said he hopes to. And "that sexy voice" seems to be getting a bit strained--he sounded a bit more ragged than I recall.

Of the first 5 tunes, only the Police cut remotely resembles a Moreytrina. Tho' here's Mr Cougar-not-yet-Mellencamp, which is more of a frequent flier. The Benatar version isn't heard nearly as often.

BOS2, Nick Lowe's Crackin' Up.
I don't think it's funny no more...

Hard to believe this ain't in my Db, but it ain't, even though Dave has played 5 other cuts off that album.

Hooray for a diff Nick Lowe cut -- BOS4 "Cracking Up". His new CD is getting some nice notices. Read an interview where he says nasty things about Macca -- he thinks that Vegas Cirque de Beatles thing is "ghastly".
-
Marcus is GOD! BOS5 Patti Smith comes on like some heroine, "Dancing Barefoot"!
-
BOS n+1, "Dancing Barefoot". Nicely done Marcus.
Now if only you send us out with Tim Curry, this will be the best 1979 set ever.

Hoorya for a diff Nick lowe cut -- BOS4 "Cracking Up". His new CD is getting some nice notices. Read an interview where he says nasty things about Macca -- he thinks that Vegas Cirque de Beatles thing is "ghastly".
He's touring in October, GAMH here I believe.
BOS3, Patti's Dancing Barefoot.
Always thought it was nice that Miss Smith married Fred "Sonic" Smith, thereby not having to change her name while still taking her husband's. Or not. Depending on how she felt on a given day.

In the Chinese world this is very common. For example in Taiwan just about 20% of the population have one of the three most common surnames: Chen, Lin or Huang (my wife's surname).
In mainland China the top name is Zhang (written Chang in Taiwan & Singapore), and there are so many people with that name that
A) if you set them up in their own country it's population would be as big as Japan's,
B) In Beijing alone it is said that there are 10,000 women with the exact same name (Zhang Su-mei or something like that)
C) at one point in dynastic history overpopulation was a big concern, and one of the ministers made a proposal that made it all the way to the emperor suggesting that one way to reduce the population 10% would be to simply kill everyone named Zhang.

"more chins than a Chinese phonebook". I wonder how many "Young"s there are in Utah...
