Title: The Peak, 07/18/07: Looks like it was 1980
Post by: Gazoo on July 18, 2007, 08:47:47 AM
I should expect the Kate Bush is a breakout across the board:

Devo    Whip It
Bruce Springsteen    Ramrod
Clash    Brand New Cadillac
Utopia    Set Me Free
Pretenders    Brass in Pocket
Queen    Need Your Loving Tonight
Elvis Costello    I Can't Stand Up For Falling Down
David Bowie    Fashion
Bob Marley    Could You Be Loved
Kate Bush    Babooshka

was just about to post this (see my post in the "Somethin' 'bout my life" thread).  Don't think Dave's ever played that Clash tune, or the Queen or the Elvis C (Get Happy! is SUCH a wonderful LP and it's totally not on his radar).

Wow, what a great set.  Caught the replay & damn glad I did.

So, did guys you just omit it, or were you under the impression that Dave (or anyone else) has played that Springsteen tune before?

I kinda blurred the Springsteen and the Cadillac together, I think.  Yeah, I don't recall Dave ever playing "Ramrod."

Which is funny -- it's one of 2 Bruce tunes named after former NYC gay bars    (oh -- the other's "Badlands")
