Listening to the stream today, as I left my radio in my other bag. Man, does this sound lousy.
And what just happened to the intro--we heard DP twice!!

I got a line on tomorrow's marathon -- it's gonna be quite enjoyable. Guess I've just gotten used to crappy streams. KFOG's is actually better than WLNG's, for one example.
Woo Hoo! BOS "Soul Deep"!!!
-
TOTHK was Spirit, I got a line on you, followed by the Boxtops' little heard Soul Deep.
-
THANK YOU DAVE!
This is the single bright spot in my day so far.

which means this is a 'new' classic - although Spirit have been the TotHK twice, "Soul Deep" only appears once in the Db, in the #8 spot.
-
in the days of my youth I was told what it means to be a (moon) man.
BOS2 Zep.

THANK YOU DAVE!

I'm going to send you some cheerful thoughts Ali!!!

And Good Times, Bad Times was in that same set, again in the #3 hole.
BOS3, Isleys, It's Yo' Thang....
-
Makin' up a mess of fun!
BOS Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper and Snork!
-
It's yo' THANG, baby! BOS3 Isleys.
-
BOS4 CCR.

Sorry to hear your day has been so sucky. But things should be gradually better toward next week, eh? (I may have a line on an all-star ticket, btw. Will keep you apprised.)
-
Discover who you really am! BOS to the Rascals. Unless we close with "Nothin' But a Heartache."
-
BOS5 Rascals. Discovah who you REALLY am!

So it's settled, I'm taking our beloved Alicat out to lunch at her favorite sushi spot, so send all your positive vibes over to Ralston Ave at noon & we can cheer her up!
-
VHM I. Ron Butterfly -- we heard this in our last '69 excursion, iirc.
Betcha Dave's gives us a sibilant "S" when he says "SSSoul Experience".
Now Joni's got me wishing I were still in Chelsea.
-
Joni at her most twee. Not one of my faves, I confess.

No you don't. It rained like a mother the last two nights, and may well again today.
-
Joni at her most twee. Not one of my faves, I confess.
au contraire, I have to give this a BOS as it was probably the only song in the set I was actually listening to when I was 6. I later discovered that my folks had the Iron Butterfly LP, but I have no memory of hearing it as a child.
ETA: I guess it's not the only one, we certainly listened to all the S&G albums, including this one. An even bigger BOS as this song helped me survive the most oppressive parts of my adolescence.
-
Second time this week for "The Boxer." And I'm not complaining one bit.

Have we (the group we) ever discussed our parents' listening habits? My mom was an Eagles/Ronstadt/FMac devotee in the late '70s while I was gravitating to the Beatles and Barry Manilow. I later discovered that she'd seen Dylan while he was still Zimmerman (I've never fact-checked this claim) and that she'd danced a few times with Bobby Vinton back in the 'Burgh well before he hit it big.
ETA: Her favorite post-'70s band, rather surprisingly, is UB40.

"Someday a real rain will come and wash all the scum off the streets..."
(I'm sure you don't recognize that movie quote either  )
VHM Jack Klugman, BOS # whatever to "The Boxer" for the second time in 2 days.
-

I could dignify that with a dissertation ("twee"???) but I'm too busy.

Is that Taxi Driver? Had you not ID'd it as a film quote, I'd have thought it was a line from Son of Sam's missive. See, the time I don't make for movies, I DO make for serial killers. Or something like that.

Ooh, smooth soul. Big BOS vote to "Can I Change My Mind." Hello in my head to a guy named Gil I think of every time I hear this song.

That was from "Goodbye Columbus", right? And he was talking to Richard Benjamin's character, whose name was Neil Klugman.
ETA: I meant the quote in the set, not the one in Mike's post.

Sorry, just me at my more cynical.

Music is good. Thanks for the positive thoughts.
I own the cranky pants today.

Yup, TD. TANC: looking forward to the ESPN miniseries about the summer of '77 (The Bronx is Burning), John Turturro's hilariously fake ears (he plays Billy Martin) notwithstanding.
Peoples let me tell y'all -- BOS Tyrone D as set-closer.

Hey, where to for listening this afternoon? I have a rare Friday off (tradeoff for working July 4) so I'll have i-radio on while I do some housework.

CGSS, baby! I've missed my Greg the last 2 Fridays.

It think it's Joni at her most "poetic" -- what Christgau once called "writing like an English lit major" (he said it about Paul Simon, but it applies here too).
