But don't forget to dance! (well, at least it's not "Come Dancing").

Kinks tho it may be, I'm not totally moved by this one today. Post-holiday malaise. (Truth be told, I have kind of a soft spot for Come Dancing's sweet reminiscence of his sisters and their beaus.)

This is a pretty good set, it was a classic already 2 years ago when it got into my Db.

Human League - (Keep Feeling) Fascination
Kinks - Don't Forget to Dance
Ultravox - Reap the Wild Wind

I can hold off on the rest if you don't want the spoilers...

I just looked it up too--not a bad set, a couple surprises coming and a couple of Katrinas--but mum's the word.

He know's he's trying to sound like Peter Gabriel circa 1973, that's for sure.

The politicians are now deejays.  Well, I hope those "surprises" are real good ones, 'cause this is fairly mundane so far.

Remarkable how much influence David Bowie had over the budding pop stars of the Rock of the 80s movement. Of course there was Peter Schilling's ode to Major Tom, and I just noticed that Re-Flex invokes the term Station to Station in Politics of Dancing. There must be others.  So '83 was ripe for Bowie's re-emergence with Let's Dance etc.

Not the best thread to post on but I know I have your attention here...

Any of you want my Fan Fest tix for FRIDAY? Not sure how I'd get them to you but I have them and I have no intention of going. Urth, will you be there Sunday? I'll be up in the VR section.

This & the next tune are the highlights.

Funny that 2 of my favorite 1983 songs, "Fascination" & "Politics Of Dancing" are such huge katirnas for Dave.

Nope, I gotta work most of the day and have a friend coming in from NY that night. Also no for Sunday, but I'll be there Monday afternoon and evening, watching the big guys trying to put 'em in the bay.

Yup, those are what I was referring to as surprises. Tune No. 10 is a personal fave, but it's also one we hear regularly--and a HUGE DaveFave.

A major Dave fave, all right -- I think if you combine Split Enz/Finn Bros/Crowded House as one, they're right up there with ELO on the most-played-artist list.

You're not going to be out on the Portwalk with a mitt trying to catch baseballs? I bet that's where a lot of the SRO ticketholders are heading.
