So said Dave on the promo I heard yesterday. A Summer of Love Minus Sgt Pepper Set?
Well, I'll settle for some '69! Super TOTHC: CCR "Com-com-mo-shawn!"
BOS1 for a Creedence track you don't hear often.
-
Server's back up, just in time. Leading off with Commotion, CCR. I don't remember hearing this too many times before, if at all.
Sly's Stand on the other hand, we've heard a bunch. And that's just fine.
-
BOS2 Sly, "Stand". But I'm guessing another 10-way-tie is in the offing.
"there's a firm rent increase in your right-and-wrong" -- wha??
-

Ditto "Time of the Season". BOS2 Booker T -- "Hang 'em High"!
-
Hoo Lawd! Edwin Hawkins! "Oh Happy Spot-the-Vinyl"!
-

think you may be right about that.
OMG--Edwin Hawkins Singers Oh Happy Day--if this isn't a bustout, it's been years and years. BOS4!
Are we playing spot the viny again today?
-
Proxy of Rod, and I'll add yet another BOS for myself for Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You.
Still firmly in 10-way tie territory.
-
And you knew Dave wouldn't pass up a chance to play the Who. Overture from Tommy. For years, this and Pinball Wizard were the only songs from that album I knew. Well, 'til the mid-70s anyway.
Beatles and/or Stones next?

Dave didn't say it, but the EHS's "OHD" sure sounded like it to me.
oo! the 'oo! Fine work from Mr Morey today.

Listening (& loving it) without posting much.
I'd agree about the 10-way tie...except I called in my vote for Gene Rayburn.
-

Cha-ching!!! (Although it didn't take much to call that one--Beatles in a 69 set? Go figure.)
-
"I, Charles, Prince of Wales, standing at the dock at Southampton..."
Christ, you KNOW ain't easy being snarky!
-
BOS #whatever BBs, "I can Hear Music", resurrecting a relatively obscure Ronnettes tune for the flower-power generation.
-
Ben lurking..
Great Set! I'm gonna burn this one!
-
This is song by song the strongest set I can recall for '69. Not even a slightly weak one in the bunch. I'd single out the Edwin Hawkins tune for rarity, but everything's just plain rocked.
BOS10 to Edison Lighthouse Spiral Starecase, More Today Than Yesterday.
ETA: Always get those guys confused. Go figure.
-
Spiral Set-closer! They're giving "Someday We'll Be Together" a run for it's money in that dept. proxy of Gaz. A delightful 45 minutes.
-
Not a peep from DM on YM today, and I messaged him several times--he musta been too busy digging the sounds.

Likewise--particularly since it seemed like he's been on a STV kick this week.
Maybe the whole set was off vinyl? Coulda been...
Glad that Edwin Hawkins got the popular BOS vote. The fogheads still get it right, at least some of the time.

"there's a firm rent increase in your right-and-wrong" -- wha??
"There's a permanent crease in your right and wrong," which is open to interpretation; I read it as an allegation of being too locked into black and white with no shades of gray.
