TOTHC Weather Report, givin' us the Bird(land). BOS1.
-
Ballsy selection on Dave's part! BOS1 from me as well.
-
BOS from me too. One of my all time favorite instrumentals.
-
Followed by a near-instrumental: Blue, blue, electric BOS2 to Bowie's "Sound + Vision."

A swell start.

Electric Ditto! Now we need to hear something from Nick Lowe's "Bowi".

Absolutely! Be sure you all vote for it officially so Big Rick can play it again at 5:50.

Eating your words? "Couldn't Get It Right" is a fave of yours, innit?
-
nice segue from the gas guzzler excise tax to "Couldn't Get It Right" though maybe I'm reading too much into it.
CBB always gets a BOS vote from me, but "Birdland" still rules.
-
CBB nearly died from hospitality in ... NYC? "Yo, I gotcha hospitality for ya, right HEAH!"
VHM Dave Mason.

Not every Morey seg is a political seg. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
-
proxy of cairo for "Isn't it Time we Retired This Katrina?"

I think a proxy for Alicat as well, & even if it is a Katrina, I still smile to hear it.
Adding a VHM for the Dave Mason, Mr. Morey has already played 4 of my favorite tunes vintage 1977.

Keep it Common-Law! BOS3 KC
-
VHM to KC's adventurous sexual politics: "Keep It Common Law."

GAH! I shoulda refreshed before posting. Kinda-sorta jinx, except I was late.
-
another proxy of Alicat (& Beej, iirc)..."Back In The Saddle"
-
Multiple Proxys-of-Alicat for CBB, KC and now Aerosmith.
-
Confucius say: "If Crapton is inevitable, Lay Down and enjoy him, Sally".
BOS Jesse J, an amazingly prescient-seeming speech, considering where pop culture has gone.

OK I put my money where my mouth is (I'm a 10@10 listener *and* I vote).

And a nice (political) segue into Clinton's theme song. :)

WOS: "Even in the Quietest Moments" could use more of them.
Seriously, the whirring throughout the track gives me a headache.
-
Not quite a bustout, but it's been 3 years since Dave played "Even In The Quietest Moments".
final BOS vote from me.

"We Just Disagree"
Indeed -- seriously, Gaz, I dunno WTF you're referring to. VHM from me, we played this LP to death on my college station.
-
Bonus: "Estimated Prophet", but he coulda chosen the Kinks "Juke Box Music".

Keep it Common-Law! BOS3 KC
Am I just gullibly not getting the joke? I thought it was "keep it comin' love"

Yes, you are. And yes, it is. But it's a great mondegreen. NYC deejays turned it into a running joke at the time it was a hit. And apparently so did many others.

Just goes to show how out of it I am! I'd never heard it before that way!

There's just a low-grade hum through much of the track, most pronounced at the beginning, that sounds to my ears like a CRT that's been on too long. (Speaking of which, is it unusual to be able to "hear" a monitor that hasn't been turned off? I often suspect my ears don't work quite like most others'.)
