REM leads off, "Welcome to the Occupation" indeed. BOS Sting "Englishman in NY", one of his loveliest.
-
And for the third time in 24 hours...my name's John Lee Pattimore....
-
DAMN! I came thisclose to predicting yesterday that Ginger would repeat "Copperhead Road". And here it is.
-
Ginger already mentioned she's going to 1988 tomorrow, what's the over/under on how many songs she plays that are in my Db only one time or not at all? I'm gonna say 4. (keeping in mind that today Dave scored a 1)
But the first song woulda been a bustout & the second was a one-timer in my Db, so already Ginger has 2 pts towards my over/under of 4.
-
here's the damn commercials coming in early again, btu apparently we're missing Mr. Jones from TH.
-
This commercials-popping-up-in-the-middle-of-the-set thing has to stop.
VHM T.Heads, "Mr Jones", which is def in the Morey db more than once.
-
I don't think I've ever heard that Edie Brickell track before.

that's true, but Edie Brickell is surprisingly not in the Db either, and even if she were I guarantee it wouldabeen "What I Am" and not "Circle".
And Toni Childs would be a bustout artist in the Morey Db, so it doesn't even matter which track she plays. There you have it, Ginger meets my over/under of 4 in only 6 songs!!

I don't think I've ever heard that Edie Brickell track before.
I gave that CD to my then-roommate & he loved it, played it endlessly, so I got to know every track quite well. As I said about Frente yesterday, for a new artist that got treated like a OHW, this is an album that you can listen to front to back.
-
OMG, that's a much more pathetic Jimmy Swaggert clip than the one Dave usually plays.
-
And now a Jeff Healey track that isn't "Angel Eyes".

And appropriate of nothing having to do with her music, Mrs. Simon has the largest mouth in popular music. When she opens it all the way, it looks like she has a hinge in the back of her neck and the whole top of her head is going to open up. Think Terrance and Phillip.

ayup, "Confidence Man" is a one-timer in the KFOG Db, so Ginger's up to 5 fer 7. This is getting more fun by the song.

So she'll be starring in "Asses of Fire 3", then? LOL!
BOS Broooce, "All That Heaven...", one of my fave songs from that LP. Covered wonderfully by the Mavericks.

"All That Heaven Will Allow" is also a one-timer, but do we dock Ginger a point for this being from 1987? Not sure we ever figured out where she stands on the dates thing. Bob always tends towards release dates & Dave goes by chart dates...I suspect Ginger actually has access to old KBCO playlists & goes by what their listeners were hearing that year.
ETA: as if to eliminate one of those possibilities, Ginger follows with "New Sensation", a 1987 album but a 1988 charting single.

I don't have Whitburn handy; this may have been a single in early '88 but I don't recall. Repeat #2: Crowded House, of course!
-
And wraps up with only the second repeater from yesterday--CH's BBHS--what else?
-
so that INXS tune is surprisingly also a Db one-timer, and then Ginger bookends the set with another Morey Fave & repeat from yesterday, CH BBHS. But out of tunes 2-9 she only played one that was a Katrina candidate.
-
And we head for Pepperland. Hope KFOG doesn't block the stream.

On second glance I saw the entry & you're right. It was a Mainstream Rock Tracks #5 actually.
