Black panties and a angel's face. No way Dave tops Ginger today.

You're likely right. Starting off two tracks behind from the get-go. The FM tune is ok, but it's no Pass the Kutchie.
Bet we hear Roxy and maybe Joe Jackson too--and probably Don Henley.
-
Dave plays "Hold Me", and we're the fools payin' the dues.
-
VHM early Simple Minds, but a bustout/rarity would be oh-so-welcome. Not holding my breath, tho'.
-
belief is a beauty thing...and I believe Simple Minds is going to be the best we get today. So a BOS from me.
fwiw, meeting rescheduled to Thursday.
-
Sooner or later, you'll hear another 'trina on 10@10.
-
"Southern Cross" is a CSN song I could easily go the next decade w/out hearing again.

bit of a sledgehammer for me, so I still like to hear it...but it by no means rescues a set from itself, if ya know what I mean.
-
another VHM to Crock o'Siegals. I've heard this a bunch of times at the gym recently, and it really is a fabulous production. One of the first technopop singles that AOR radio (as opposed to Pop or Alternative formats) embraced wholeheartedly.
What are Katrinas for? 'cause no one's list'nin' any more.

as I said last week about Dave's 1981 set, this set is succeeding as far as being a time capsule, 'cause this is the music that I was hearing in the dorms that year. But as a musical adventure to a quarter century ago it's coming off pretty flat.
it's no use talking anymore
-
Don't have any preference one way or the other for Southern Cross, but this Missing Persons tune is another matter. Typical post-holiday set--nothing too far afield.

Typical post-holiday set.
Nail, head. Head, nail.

Too true -- In NYC the big "prog" station (WNEW-FM) was very New Wave-conscious, and in the 'burbs WLIR switched to a Rock of the '80s format that summer to the delight of my friends and me. So these songs were in my ears too.
But so was a lot of R&B, courtesy of the late great Frankie Crocker at WBLS. (Gap Band, Dazz Band, etc)
-
The pipes sound suspiciously like Alex Ligertwood's so I'm guessing this to be a Santana tune, but oddly I don't hear much guitar--like any.
ETA: Ah, there he is. 8 bar guitar solo and out.
-
VHM "Working Girl", which is a perennial Gaz WOS, iirc.
-
I suppose the Members probably deserve another BOS vote, but only in stark comparison to that Santana-when-he-sucked tune.
-
My dad has an awesome set of tools

Yup--and Talk Talk is likely tune # 10 so I struck out entirely on my predictions. Guess my crystal ball is having a post-holiday slow day too.

"first he's gonna _________, then he's gonna kill us"
Why bother to play the clip at all, Dave?
"Talk Talk" makes a 2nd appearance today.

'cuz it's one Oscar winner talking about another, back when they were just a couple of kids? I dunno, it worked for me.

Ginger redux! And Steve Miller's most insipid hit leads off.
diggin' it on Saturday replay. Now when I hear this song, it makes me think of how much my 10@10 buddies hate it!
