Non-music-related comment:  Has anyone ever seen "The Mighty Quinn" movie with Denzel Washington?  It's at least 10 years old and is a great movie to check out sometime...

The NBC newscaster that was covering the announcement of RFK's death sounded positively deflated.

Starting to head toward 10-way tie territory. BOS5 the Beatles (yay).

That's *almost* become a Katrina, although it's not as common as Hugh Masekela or the Beach Boys ""Do It Again".

indeed, 10-way-tie methinks. But VVHM ReeRee, trumping Dionne less than a year after Ms W's orig version was a hit. Aretha made quite a habit of doing that to people back then.

I think this was a bustout the previous time we heard it (last March, yes I have my Db open).

BOS whatever "Sky Pilot", which is what the hippie kids at St. Pauls's Lutheran in DC were calling my dad before the song came out.

I've been streaming,  but not listening.. in a meeting. so far Hair BOS.
Best thing about streaming is I can go back and listen.. as long as I keep that browser window open, its like tivo for radio.
Didn't used to stream that way. Is that the case your streams?

Do you mean you're somehow capturing the stream? Tell us more.

Btw, they're starting the evening replay early again. I turned on at 9:52 and they were in the middle of a long commercial break--the set is just starting at 9:56.

Lest we forget...

05/18/2007 - FRIDAY!!! Awesome!! 1968!!

1.  Manfred Mann - The Mighty Quinn
2.  Fever Tree - San Francisco Girls (Return of the Native)
3.  Small Faces - Tin Soldier
4.  Simon & Garfunkel - America
5.  Beatles (yeah!) - Dear Prudence
6.  Aretha Franklin - I Say a Little Prayer
7.  Animals - Sky Pilot   (BEST OF SET!!)
8.  Moody Blues - Peak Hour
9.  Rolling Stones - Sympathy For the Devil
10.  Diana Ross & the Supremes - Love Child

BONUS TRACK:  Jimi Hendrix Experience - You Got Me Floatin'

ETA: Hey! The web site says Aretha got BOS, but in the backsell Dave said it was the Animals. Mistake, or revisionism? In any case, I'm going with the backsell and have changed the above list accordingly.

Not familiar with this.  Some of it dreadfully silly/pretentious, but the basic rockin' riff is killer stuff with the bass and drums.

Guess he was counting that as a sound clip--kinda like his TV show medleys. Although the JC Superstar Medley has counted as a song on occasion--but it was pretty long, too.

Then he would pronounce it "yeah" instead of "yay", no?

Bad news for sleepyheads: this great '68 set was first in the marathon -- they're mixing 'em up again instead of playing them in order.

Which makes me all the more glad I caught the evening replay last night. I slept til half past '85 (about quarter to 10) this morning--woke up mid-JCM. And boy, did I need the Zs. Rough week.
