Title: 17 May 2007: it's 1985

Makes me wanna "Cry" indeed.  G&C start us off with a Katrina, but U2 make amends.

U2 was a nice rarity (bustout even?) but I've always thought this JCM song was exceedingly dumb.

See I love the Godley & Creme, "Three Sunrises" is my all-time favorite U2 song, and now we got "Justice & Independence" from JCM, which is my favorite song on that album.  So I'm thinking this is gonna be a pretty sweet set.

classic Morey segue there: Reagan speaks and then "the nation cried" (JCM, "Justice & Independence", BOS)

The JCM is, lyrically, absurdly ponderous (his parents named him "Independence day"?  He met a girl named Justice? and then they... I can't go on) but JCM redeems it musically.

OK, I'll BOS2 Tori, er, Kate Bush, but this set is really crying for a serious bustout.

i loved that song when it was released. now it's just overkill. but it's a good test of where one generation ended and another began. i've started meeting people who don't remember the song. or only have a vague memory of it.
