Makes me wanna "Cry" indeed. G&C start us off with a Katrina, but U2 make amends.
-
U2 was a nice rarity (bustout even?) but I've always thought this JCM song was exceedingly dumb.

See I love the Godley & Creme, "Three Sunrises" is my all-time favorite U2 song, and now we got "Justice & Independence" from JCM, which is my favorite song on that album. So I'm thinking this is gonna be a pretty sweet set.
-
classic Morey segue there: Reagan speaks and then "the nation cried" (JCM, "Justice & Independence", BOS)

not even that rare, more like uncommon.
but I've always thought this JCM song was exceedingly dumb.
but the furious strumming makes up for it!

The JCM is, lyrically, absurdly ponderous (his parents named him "Independence day"? He met a girl named Justice? and then they... I can't go on) but JCM redeems it musically.

I didn't really mean that as a dare, Dave!

OK, I'll BOS2 Tori, er, Kate Bush, but this set is really crying for a serious bustout.

I'll even BOS3 Jan Hammer, a dandy set-closer IMHO. (records that end cold, followed by the buzzer, usually are)

i loved that song when it was released. now it's just overkill. but it's a good test of where one generation ended and another began. i've started meeting people who don't remember the song. or only have a vague memory of it.
