every time lately when I visit the KFOG homepage I see the blurb: FREE JONATHAN BUTLER TRIO DOWNLOAD

But I read that like "FREE NELSON MANDELA", and I start to wonder...

Who is Jonathan Butler & why is there a trio trying to free him?

jonathan butler is from south africa, if memory serves. so you're assuming he's imprisoned, maybe? :) i don't know if it's the same jonathan butler, though. the one i'm thinking about is a smooth jazz guitarist and vocalist who had a hit song called "lies" back about the time kenny dropped everything following the "g."

but i read it that way, too. just now in your post.

oops, that should be John Butler, not Jonathan Butler.  See, I was thinking if the smooth jazz guy too.
