Thanks, baby! It's getting off to a rainy start in SF.

How many fingers now? Are 52 on 5/2 or is that next year?

yes -- 5-2 on 5/2. I hadn't thought of that!

Congrats, Mike! Hope you get the set of your dreams today, and it just gets better from there.
(Can't wait 'til I'm 916 on 9/16...in 2875. C'mon, Lazarus Long...)

Hey Urth, what did you think of Fountains of Wayne? Aidin Vaiziri (surprise!) wasn't impressed.

FWIW, Rob Harvilla of the Voice was equally unimpressed.
And Mike: Feliz Compleaņos!

told my class I knew someone who turned 52 today on 5/2, then they proceeded to ask me my birthday, and remarked how I'd have to be 124! Higher math indeed!

so is it 12/4 or 1/24? I know i have this written down somewhere.
fwiw I turned 36 on 3/6/99
of the rest of us I think only POC has a chance to accomplish this feat, which my brother who shares the same birthdate did last month - 43 on 4/3.

I'm not sure what this means (and it kind of scares me) but I more or less agreed with what ol' Ay-deen had to say about the show. It was competent enough, but I definitely felt like their hearts weren't in it, and they played like they had a cab waiting or something. I've gotten a little of that "too hip" vibe from these guys before, like they've got an inside joke that we, their lowly audience, just weren't getting. But it seemed a bit more pervasive this time. Also, I think Adam Schlesinger was the only one of the entire band who came close to cracking a smile for the entire show. The rest of the guys were just too cool for school. (It didn't help that most of their new songs were pretty meh, too.)
Hoping for better from Travis tonight at the 'mo. Gotta love those Scottish pop bands. Just hope I can understand half of what they say between songs.

Their new single, "Closer," is quite pretty if not exactly artistic growth for them. And their accents can't be any worse than when I saw the Clientele a few months ago. Now those are some randy scouse gits.
PS: Just now discovering Feist despite having had "Mushaboom" on a KFOG comp for ages. KFOG oughta be adoring "My Moon, My Man" by now.
Gaz, who doubts he'll reach his Methuselistic target age of 1215

Thanks, bub. Dave's giving me... Comic Books? oh well. But it's a lovely SF day anyway.
-
Happy Day, Mike. Dim sum and IronMan later, right. Sounds like a good plan. Good review from Mick -- You might like it anyway. :P
And Dim Sum is always good. Yank Sing, or somewhere in Chinatown?

's funny, I started at the top of the thread without checking the date, and immediately thought, Is it really raining in SF today?
Where and when are you going to see Iron Man?
-
You should celebrate at the Sharks game! Really. They're gonna win.
The set might have something to do with tomorrow being free comic book day? It's the first Saturday in May, www.freecomicbookday.com

The good news: it stopped raining shortly before gametime.
The bad news: the G-Men stunk up the joint and lost 5-1.
-

Likewise from the Soggy Northwest. Hope you have a superb day--any big plans?
(Yes, still raining here, but just showers. Anything less than constant rain is progress.)
