that WMIR stream amazes again: Queen, "Flick of the Wrist", which I don't think I've EVER heard on the radio.
-
Figures Southside Johnny'd show up sooner or later on a LI-based stream. And here's the great "Trapped Again".
-
WLNG Nugget o' the Day: Arthur Alexander's wonderful orig version of "You Better Move On", later covered quite splendidly by Mink DeVille.
-
CG plays the Take That-featuring-Lulu version of "Relight My Fire".
-
WLNG Nugget o' the Day: Gene & Debbie, "Playboy", a creamy-dreamy early-'60s duet a la"Hey Paula", but better IMHO.
-
KCDX apes Dave : Tubes followed by the Beau Brummels.

and more KFOG-ism on KCDX: Kenny Wayne Shepard's cover of Dylan's "Everything is Broken"

Hope you're still listening, right now KCDX is giving us "Nashville Cats" by Lovin' Spoonful.

They still rule (KCDX, that is). And now "The Bay Area's own (sort of)", Eddie Money.
Guess there aren't nearly as many Phoenix-area artists...
I'mm off the rest of the day, first of several medically-related appointments at my new employer (TB test today). Then I'm gonna try to catch Grindhouse.

A hit in 1968, shockingly enough.
And the sound of fat ass cheeks rippling in the wind is better than "Hey Paula."

new to me on CG: Showaddywaddy's 1978 cover of Dion & the Belmonts' "I Wonder Why"
-
CG Treat of the Day: Chris Rea "Fool if You Think It's Over" -- the original, not that re-recorded version Dave's played a few times. Lovely.
-
another nugget: Roy C's 1966 "Shotgun Wedding", a Sam Cooke-ish number later (1993) covered by Rod Stewart.
-
I get a shout-out from Greg on CGSS -- I requested the 3 Degrees' "Take Good Care of Yourself" as a goodbye-until-May song. And he wishes me luck in the new job. Awwwww...
and he follows the song by saying "hope you love the new job and I hope it pays at least $5,000 more than your current one". LOL! (and it does)

I'm just a suckaforlove, suckaforlove, suckaforLOVE, baby! Slick Rick and Teena Marie, rare as vintage wine.
-
This "let's dance together in a minefield" song is new to me. (No, it's not Heather Mills-McCartney.)
-
on WLNG: one of my favorite what-the-F**K-were-they-thinking?? moments in all of pop: The incredibly white Happenings, doing Al Jolson's "Mammy" as their follow-up to "I Got Rhythm".
-
a lovely way to end my workday: Ray Charles, "You Don't Know Me".
