Title: 23 March 2007 -- 1967 (not 1968 as I originally thought)

One for the dinosaurs he sez, and we had 1969 last month.

Both you and Mike are quicker than I am. Here's what I said in the thread I created and deleted:

Dave said this set is for "the dinosaurs" so one can only assume that means sixties. What's overdue? Dare we hope...1967? Earlier?

This may actually salvage what has been a rather lackluster week.

BOS2 the 'oo, one of the GREAT singles of the '60s.  But to be my usual nit-picky self, I think we heard both these songs in our last '67 visit.

Well...you're wrong, right and even righter than you knew.

We haven't been to 1967 since last April, but we didn't hear these two songs then.  We DID hear both the previous visit, in Dec '05, and on second glance we heard the Easybeats in both sets, which makes it 3-in-a-row we've now heard the Easybeats in the last 4 vistis to 1967. But, considering that we almost never go here except on a Friday, it's an easy error of commission to forgive .

OK, fwiw, "FWIW"  is one of the most overplayed songs of the period. This set is like "1967 for Dummies" so far.

Not any more--enthusiasting BOS for Lovin' Spoonful, Darlin' Be Home Soon. Too bad about John Sebastian's voice. He used to sound so great.

Dave does like I Can See for Miles a lot--I know I've heard it in more 67 sets than not.

Trivia: we've probably discussed this before, but you guys know what the Lovin' Spoonful's name refers to, doncha?

maybe...but in the last 3 years you've heard it in exactly as many '67 sets as not...4 out of 8 to be specific.

actually, per several music sites:

"LOVIN' SPOONFUL - 1) from the lyrics of the old song "Coffee Blues". Possibly a drug reference to the spoon used to heat & melt drugs such as heroin for use.  2) Also that the amount of the sperm ejaculated by the average male is about a spoonful (see also the band 10cc )"
