BOS Dave & Ansil Collins
I gave some thought to calling Dave & asking if we'd hear the Ides today.
I gotta give a BOS vote to our TotHC "Baba O'Reilly". Would you believe that accordingto my Db that is a bustout? Seriously.
And a VHM to the James Gang "Walk Away".
-
woo hooo Groove me baby!
-

Clearly impossible.
ah sookie sookie now UNGH!
"you've become a sweet taste in mah mouth
and ah wants you to be mah spouse"
-
where is everybody today? I was going to watch the Stanford game, but they are getting their clocks cleaned by Louisville, so I returned to take solace from this set & Dave is not disappointing.
-
VHM MTM
-
BOS MTM theme. "Meow".
-
proxy of Gaz, "Temptation Eyes", the GRs at the end of their creative rope -- one soundalike hit too many, at that point -- but cheezily enjoyable anyway.
-

La la la la la I can't hear you la la la.
I'm recording the game to watch later. So...don't tell me any more.
Great set. BOS for the Grass Roots.
-
BOS Grass Roots.
And BOS2 Chicago, Free. Terry Kath lives!

Very tough Chicago song that I don't recognize.

Ummm, okay, but exactly how masochistic are you?

It was kind of a turntable hit, used to hear it on FM radio in the 70s but I don't know that it charted.
VVHM Firesign Theater. Welcome to the Future!

I'm enjoying, but except for the Chicago tune, this is standard-issue Morey IMHO.

I'm a Stanford fan. Do you really need to ask?
-
Another BOS for War. Here's hoping they get a HOF induction one of these years.
-
BOS2 "All Day Music". Summertime '71 flashback.
-
BOS3 Traffic! Now we're getting somewhere.

Well, see now, I wasn't really asking. That was one of them there re-tor-y-cal questions.
-
Wow, nother BOS for Traffic.

If they had another hit besides "Cisco Kid", Mick LaSalle's not heard it.

Mick's never heard that one. He's only heard "Low Rider".
-
Wow, nother BOS for Traffic.
And for me as well. Probably not a bustout, but a particularly great track from an album consisting entirely of great tracks.
-
VHM for sweet baby James. The Random Numbers used to play this one. Sometimes.
-
VHM JT on a country road, chile yeah.

A question: What's the Mick LaSalle (Chronicle critic) reference? Does he vote?

Very nearly a bustout. My Db only has this once, and that was the 2003 KaBOOM set.
a solid VHM for JT, whose feet are taking him where they want to go.
-
VHM JT on a country road, chile yeah.
is this one of those JT songs he recorded twice? 'cause this sounds kinda different.
-
I still like Lee Michaels' "Do You Know What Katrina Means".

Huge thing yesterday on hios blog about the RocknRoll Hall of Fame.

BOS Lee Michaels.
You know what I mean.
(aside: free drip coffee at Starbucks 10-12. Just got back with a cup)

This was the version I know best, but you may be right. He could have done it on his Apple debut, then rerecorded it for Sweet Baby James or something.
And wtf is AMG so slow to load?
ETA: Nope, per AMG it's only on SBJ, at least as a new release. The rest are comps.
-
wow, even with "Baba O'Riley" as TOTHC, we're done at 10:37.

I figured it was something obvious that I missed. :) Thanks for clueing me in!!

True, but I think a lot of the rest of the set (King Floyd, Grass Roots, Chicago, War) were all like 3:30, so we end up with a pretty fast set.
And a pretty darn fine one it was. I'm slightly bumming that I'm out tonight for the Ian Hunter thing at the Fillmore. I guess between this one and the Soul Patrol on Monday, I won't be sleeping in much on Saturday.

...and I'm gonna SUCK ya!!!
I just ordered a fairly comprehensive TRex best-of (there are many that omit certain songs, but this one seems to have everything).

Crap--missed it. A poorly timed impromptu meeting. Oh well.
Which one? I've got Electric Warrior and The Slider, but I know there are a bunch of songs that aren't on either.

it's just called "the Very Best of T Rex", appears to be an import. It has every British chart single except (TANC) "Jeepster".
