I'm not absolutely sure, but wasn't last year's NOLa set a few days after Fat Tuesday?
ETA: Nope, it was Tuesday, Feb 28 (a late Mardi Gras, too). I be wrong.
-
oh that Gerry Ford -- he was Born to Run!
-
And the hits just keep on coming: Born to Run.
(Nice segue from Jerry Ford, too.)
Never realized before how much clavinet was used in Trampled....ah, the 70s, era of so many fun keyboards.
-
TANC and BOS2 Ms Gaynor -- doin' it herself, 2 days in a row!
-
That Sexy Katrina.
-
BOS2, the incomparable Roxy Music. This song really caught my ear when it was released--it didn't sound like anything else on the radio. I'm not sure if I liked it right away, but it eventually worked its way into my brain. Fabulous bass line, a Roxy trademark, even tho they seemed to go thru bassists like old kleenex.
-
"you better get your face on board the very next train"
"do ya do ya want my face? I need it!"
on the face of it, Jeff Lynne has a face fetish.
-
BOS3 Seger, "Katmandu". Let's hope we hear the Cat Man too.
-
OOoooo, BOS3, Mr. Smokin' OPs himself, Ka-ka-ka-ka-ka-KAT-MAN-DU!!
Who, coincidence or no, is playing the Oakland Arena this Saturday I think. Wonder how it's selling?
-
I detect the warmth of vinyl....Pinball making its annual appearance.
-
BOS4 Brian Prothroe -- "Pinball", a Narada to many, but a memory to me.
"and I walk over Soho
and I read about Monroe"
-
The Ka. Tri. Na. is a real go-er.
-
yet another overplayed hit: "How Long". A pleasant if pedestrian set. Thank god for Ms Gaynor and Mr Prothroe.
-

"You LOSE!" sez cranky Dave. Feh.

Oh, yeah, he pulled this "not really vinyl 'cause it was a 45 burned to CD" BS last year. Not buying it.
-
Bonus: J Geils, "Musta Got Lost". But nice choices, including "Miracles" and "Fox on the Run".
